0€ pre-order, paid 414,something€, delivery to Austria.
OMFG I did it, can't believe believe my bank account just went even further below 0. Have I amde a mistake? Will it be worth it? Should I, once more have been more cautious and delayed gratification? Have I bought a very expensive chocolate bar that doesn't even give me an awesome chocolate high?
I need support guys, please tell me it's gonna rock! Please help me believe there will be a QWERTZ other half!
My N900 is booting to a black screen once again, this time only 2 months after the last reflash, not initiated by un update. I guess that was sort of pushing me to move on. Maybe N900 is sending a message that it would like to quit service. Maybe it wants me to give love a new chance. Could it be Jolla is the next one?

To be objective, you took 2 risks:
Short term: hardware may not be up to your expectations. And don't be fooled. I'm not talking about the CPU/GPU, but about reception, call quality, construction, etc..
Long term: _if_ Jolla doesn't make it, you won't get precious OS updates.

That said, you will get a Beta of the OS - hopefully it isn't search-giant's concept of Beta (which isn't even Alpha), but a more mature and tested Beta. And they say they'll listen. So you'll get updates and hopefully good ones.

Physical keyboard? Well, that will depend on how successful Jolla is as well. May I remind you that there is a thread for that in TMO and that Jolla personnel was watching that thread very closely. So there is a good chance that you'll see something in the future. It is the first time that you can buy a phone and you can worry about the physical keyboard later. That's good.

In other news, I was asking in another thread about the starting point of the sequential order numbers issued on payment with regards to the First 450 who bought theirs yesterday. Well to answer my own question I presume they start at 1/2 000000001 as someone on twitter has a number below the 450 threshold:

I have 0 worry about software because they will patch it up and if they stop support we will have android apps, so it won't be like N9.

My only worry is hardware, something that I can't fix. Thus I am waiting until Sunday to decide. But I am 95% sure I will buy it.

If you don't like it sell it on ebay, someone has already bid like +$600 for Jolla phone on ebay.

On June 6th made 100 EUR preorder, just paid the rest :D

I won't be dissaponted because I don't expect any superpowers from this phone, I like Jolla concept (unlike :) + design and after N900 and N9 it's just natural to have true linux phone. Unfortunately I am not programmer and cant participate to community this way :(

True, it was and is a valid question, and to some people it doesn't matter how good the phone in overall is if one feature is missing. It's certainly a personal preference. I was just humorously noting Lumiamans post because he seems to always bring up the corporate e-mail sync aside from the complete bashing of anything related to Jolla and their phone, in relevant threads about Jolla of course... :)

Just open a thread for non-EU people to get somebody in the EU to ship them the phone so that we're aware of demand, then people can agree on some ground rules, such as that they aren't responsible if it doesn't work, they'll wait for your money first, prefered courier, etc. etc..

I still got 2 pre-orders waiting to be paid. But I hesitate whether it's the right time. Maybe, I should wait for a couple of finnish lakes' names to surface (fw codename). Dunno, dunno... Too many things are drawing me aside, OS-wise. I know it's beta, well, actually, I would call it pre-alpha, but those things are just too much. And TOH was - I repeat, WAS - something interesting to follow closely, then turned out to be just some wallpaper trigger. Nevertheless, there is still time until 2nd Dec.

+1 the community has great coders that can help with SW(fMMS comes to mind) manufacturing a reliable hwkb is a totally different story (I hope I'm wrong)

I'm waiting for a (well, another) reply from Jolla to buy as a self-employed from Spain. It's an Intracommunitarian (Intra-European) operation so I've to not pay VAT them, and pay VAT in my country.

I prereserved for 0€. December the 2nd is nearing :(
