Over os app's seem to be able to do this - not being a techie person can you please say in laymans why it's not possible on the n900 ?

Checking in to a place is supported and implemented, you just can't add a new place (which of all the times I've checked in, I've never needed to).

This is the final icon I've been working on (drawing it actually), I dun know if u guys will recognize the tiny N900 :)

I also attached the old icon I posted previously since it was not transparent from the sides. All icons are 16x16 and transparent now. See if u like it.

I know nothing of Facebook's location API specifically, but I've heard that for other types of interaction with Facebook, such as contact synchronization, there exist both public and private APIs. Private APIs expose greater functionality, but their use appears to require contracts and cash. That may the case for location creation.

If you find an open source Facebook client that supports the creation of new locations, please provide a link to it.
