Froyo booting quick and fine here. Having issues with pretty much everything else (except settings) crashing.

i might try a gapps but it'll likely not be stable

dj_steve 2010-06-27 13:16

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

yea ive seen that error in music player, its likely due to sd support being dodgy amoungst other things

It's okay, I'll tri-boot it if you can upload it :)

Just stick the usual warnings in the post to make sure everyone doesn't try it ;)

Nice work !! Keep it up. Hope to read someday "Works without R+D" Was one of the main reasons i quit testing.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

I know this is a bit up and ahead, but what are your thoughts about the FM radio? Afaik no android device has had a FM radio, not transmitting nor receiving. Is it supported by the dbus/sysfs? If it is not, can it be made accessible to android? Is a standalone program the best alternative maybe (needs to be recognized by android anyway)?

I know its not high priority, but have you made any thoughts on how it will be implemented, if ever?

If it's the flashing keyboard that you don't like about R&D mode they can be turned off if you want :)

will android Eclair still get more versions or is it going to just continue on with android froyo?
Is it the same way to install this version?

If you look at my tutorial it's the same procedure as before, except now you don't need to replace a config file to get sound(although I'm not sure Froyo has sound yet).

dj_steve 2010-06-27 14:19

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

froyo will probably be the new version since its gettingto the point of being stable now

froyo has sound (as shown in my demo vid)

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

I would suggest forgetting about fm radio or flash for now and concentrating on basic features like phone, sd card and hardware acceleration. :)

badboyuk 2010-06-27 14:34

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

cool sounds good. I guess ill wait a bit till there is a stable and better version out. At the moment ive got Eclair on it with some apps installed, so im just gonna mess around on it for a while and get a hang of android and see what their apps are like.
Also another feature I would like to see is android running without the need of having R+D mode on.
I hope it's not too risky having it enabled all the time?

I've been running it for a week or two now and I have not noticed any difference.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

I prepared some Flash capability tester for you guys
http://www.flaemo.com/ctest/
Will give you more tech information I believe.

You can also test and compare performance to your PC or flash under microb
http://www.flaemo.com/ctest/5000/index10.swf
http://www.flaemo.com/ctest/50000/index10.swf

For example I've got 69ms on OC 900mhz MicroB

This is also good for testing Flash.

On Line Flash compiler min 10.0 required. You can find a lot of code write by folks to test a performance. Or even fork yourself to see how far you can go. Some 3D libraries such as Alternativa 3Dor Papervision are also there. Would be interesting to see is really flash 10.1 has beneift on vector drawings and triangle based operation.

http://wonderfl.net/

I'm really impressed guys. If I could stay with N900 and even not fully supported Android but with ability to continue Flash development I will call you my Hero :)
