Re: TOHKBD rev2
I'm just skip work for a few days. More or less on speaking terms with the postman...

Re: TOHKBD rev2
My TOHKBD arrived today :D
Finland, black/red/carbon. It looks very high quality. Software installed without any problems. 3D printed parts feels bit rought and I hope that they will smoothern over time. Keys feels nice but I have to get used to this layout as it is very wide. Written on my TOHKBD. |
Re: TOHKBD rev2
Recieved mine yesterday.
(Yellow, alumined, carbon, scandic) Finland. It's really good. Only two buttons that need a bit more pressure to register, but that will most likely improve over time. Alt-tab is awesome (although whatsup (native) doesn't show). I'm really impressed by the quality. Yellow was probably not the best option, since the marks for the pogopins are already showing (black lines), but that's just a minor issue. Can order a new case if need-be :) Thank you all for a nice product! :D |

Re: TOHKBD rev2
For everyone with hard-to-press keys, I made a thread over at together.jolla.com to collect ideas and solutions to the problem!
|
Re: TOHKBD rev2
Well, the TJC-thread has already come up with a solution to the unresponsive key-problem for me! All it required was pushing the keypad around, as described here: https://together.jolla.com/question/...sponsive-keys/
|
Re: TOHKBD rev2
Still waiting on that postman ....
@yawuji,@epninety,@feathers mcgraw - did you guys get yours over the weekend? edit: btw, congrats guys on reaching such an easy solution to the key problem so fast! |
Re: TOHKBD rev2
Got mine on Friday (Scandic: red/black/curly birch). All keys seem to be working, few are a bit tighter that the rest, but not enough to make me tear it apart.
One keyboard (#254) should reach Tampere today or perhaps tomorrow (mailed from Helsinki on Friday evening). |

Re: TOHKBD rev2
Well the TJC thread is still open, there might be other solutions that remain to be found! Let's keep experimenting and sharing the knowledge, and we will all be happy campers!
In fact, I do have one key ('5') that still is slightly off from perfect. But the others were so much worse before that I didn't even notice that one in the beginning! |
Re: TOHKBD rev2
First chance to play properly with my tohkbd, and I think its excellent :)
Some keys seem more sensitive than others but also a bit variable... sometimes works better than other times. All work though, will play with it for a few days before deciding if it needs any further attention. Already a huge improvement on the on-screen version imho. |
Re: TOHKBD rev2
My CTRL key started to jam even the key is not pressed and the indicator light is not on. Seems like it goes on constantly and I need to press it once to be able to write. The kbd becomes usable for a moment until it happens again.
Anyone else having the same? |
Re: TOHKBD rev2
install mce-tools package, and run
evdev_trace -t and check is there extra CTRL key presses... look for something like this: Code:
...EV_KEY - 0x01d/KEY_LEFTCTRL - 1 |

Re: TOHKBD rev2
Mine arrived today (UK). Not installed it yet but looks lovely. I might lightly varnish the walnut back.
|
Re: TOHKBD rev2
Mine just arrived today. Finally it feels like a big n900 just as it should. It is working great, except the 'a'-key requires a bit more pressure but you could fix that as described here https://together.jolla.com/question/...sponsive-keys/
|
Re: TOHKBD rev2
Mine arrived too to day. Everything is working well, got a wrong backplate Kelo instead of carbon, but i think i'm fine with it.
Thanks to Dirk and the Team for all the effort! |
Re: TOHKBD rev2

Re: TOHKBD rev2
Finally found the time to play around with the keyboard, except for the known issues as äö etc on qwertz i have two questions:
What about the german 'ß', how would i type it? and Apps from OpenRepos don't show in the taskswitchter. Known issue? What can be done? |
Re: TOHKBD rev2
Quote:
hey sfb, for "ß", it's located right from the spacebar, between shift and fn key, together with the @ icon. But isn't yet working, so i assume, and hope, it will be fixed by time... didn't even noticed it...there are really some openrepo apps, that weren't shown in the taskswitcher. Thanks for that. :o |
Re: TOHKBD rev2
Not sure whether this has been posted here before. A review of TOHKBD2 is available in youtube. Here is the link

Re: TOHKBD rev2
Where are the instructions for installing the relevant software? Or is the keyboard supposed to work automatically once assembled?
I've assembled it. Correctly as far as I know as there are no assembly instructions either. |
Re: TOHKBD rev2

The phone should detect the keyboard with nfc and automatically download the software, maybe you have a NFC problem. You can download manually, see here: https://together.jolla.com/question/96836/tohkbd-faq/ |
Re: TOHKBD rev2
@yawuji - no nothing yet :(
|
Re: TOHKBD rev2
Thanks santeira. Didn't expect it to be there. But once you told me i wonder how i missed it.
And it's true some OpenRepos Apps seem to show in Taskswitcher others like PoorMaps don't. |
