I am almost dusting of my N900. So many more apps. And not too leggy at 900 MHz.

Faster N9 did make my N9 a lot smoother. Great improvement I recommend. I will probably overclock after everything is working with PR1.3

Actually, I would like a much better IMAP client like Profimail. Why doesn't Nokia's client delete emails on the server and why is it such a power hog?

I really miss Profimail on Symbian...so amazingly tweakable. I shell out $100 for it were it available...it's that much better.

It's the same problem actually. No mass storage, hidden file system, no file manager, no bluetooth transfer ---> must use Zune.

If Microsoft allow bluetooth transfer they must also show the file directory system to allow you to access the file. Same issue with iphone.

The funniest comment I've heard from a Lumia user is one of the advantage is that he doesn't need to use itunes.

Didnt you hear? Its not coming. The Meego team has been disbanded.

That was end of March, AFAIK. Then add the usual six to eight weeks QA quarantine to it, and PR 1.3 could be released end of May or early June.

certainly not. Wait for a beta release to come out for N950, then it's around a month out for N9s

I don't think so. From what I've gathered, N950 is no longer supported and PR 1.2 beta was the last release for it.

Is WP a full blown is OS with direct filesystem access and tools like ssh, rsync, etc. or does it 'protect' its users from being able to do simple things like modify filenames, change directory structures or file ownership and permissions like iOS?

It is a Silverlight applet runtime environment sitting on top of a Windows CE kernel. There is no such thing as filesystem access, filenames, or directories.
