Here's the other problem with what Nokia has done by firing or losing all these people: All the talented mind-share and dedicated employees who had participated in their own capacity, to get the company on top for all those years, had to get jobs elsewhere. They've lost all that mind-share to competitors. They've done the business equivalent of painting themselves into a corner and now being stuck there. Brilliant Mr. Elop has instead decided to hobble the company by making it dependent on another corporation--his former employer. How does ANY of that sound good?

At least Tim Cook had the decency to admit Apple's mistakes with the mapping application and came out to apologize for it and is moving to quickly fix the problem. Elop is the captain that would head straight for an iceberg and ignore anybody that argues with his decision to go full steam ahead.

Dumbramos,

Looks like you are copying what I said only a page ago: "it will be difficult for Nokia or Jolla for that matter to break into the top tier. none of the products are revolutionary and most of them are iphone imitations, including N9. price breaks and small differentiations will help fractionally increase the consumer base. until something revolutionary comes, the top tier will be iOS and Android. i am not sure that Nokia has that revolutionary spirit left in its bowels. so ashas and taleban phones will remain its best bet. "

Just downloaded Nokia maps on iPhone 4S, works beautifully. Why couldn't it do the same on my 3 N9s. Ask Jolla leadership

Early next year they are going to release Firefox OS handsets so I'll definitely be looking to buy a ZTE.

I haven't ruled them out, but then they have to beat fast-growing Huawei too. I just stated that you don't need to be top 3 to be a success. Most non-chinese people hadn't even heard of ZTE and Huawei 4 years ago.

My current phone is a ZTE.

Just a thought but if the price of the WP8 device has already been announced and the share price seems to be a trifle reluctant to move in an upward direction, have we now passed one of lumiamans milestones?

lumiaman: "Its responding to the market as a whole. Greece, spain, god knows who else.....No significant changes until pricing, availability and sales are announced "

Which would mean that there's only "availability" and "sales" left to go?

This is better than going to the movies.
