A much newer version of the browser (engine) plus heaps of (cosmetic) fixes to it, that annoy me a lot on daily basis.
The heavy font kerning while zooming is one of them.
It is supposed to render a lot faster too, which is interesting considering it already is at light speed since I am running my N900 at 900 Mhz.

The only three repos I had open, extras-devel, extras-testing and the software update wouldn't refresh for me. That has been a sign that things are about to happen during waitathons in the past.

A few interesting comments by Qgil in this thread in that apparently Q&A is still continuing on PR1.2 so I assume we will have to wait a little bit longer yet as unfortunately he give's no indication as to time scales.

Also he suggests Meego will be officially supported by Nokia for the N900 I maybe reading more into this than is meant but I cannot recall Nokia ever saying that in the past?

I know this. Did you take the time to read what I was replying to?

The guy said his random twitter friend said that PR1.2 was the last update. My response was to remain sceptical because it's not an official source. As your quote points out, it might well not be the last update.

They have. They're frozen, and in testing. Source is qgil. I'd give you a reference but I don't really feel like hunting it down - search should find it.

Since this is a useless thread I just wanted to add that after much consideration and taking into acount the even though the other that have missed the first will not return befor the second bunch was available for coment on the first incident of the triangular show of effection, which by the way was considered on of the worst ever to be published in the early years of the most welcome users of this and other communities in the wake of the aftershock that was presented more then once to various people around the globe by the unexpcted and everlasting release of the famous 1.2 release.

So what the heck are you all talking about?

A minor correction: the release date has been set to the day when all news announcers have learned to correctly pronounce "Eyjafjallajökull".

Thanks, I missed these posts from @qgil and they are recent, so I assume that he is not talking about the Meego version without graphical UI available since 1st April, am I right?

The wiki page still mention that N900 official support for Meego is neither confirmed or denied by Nokia, but the above posts from @qgil seems to confirm that. Am I being too optimistic or it is true indeed?

Regards Maemo 5 updates in case Nokia offers the choice between Maemo and Meego for N900, as I said before it may be a legal obligation in most countries that Nokia keeps supporting Maemo 5 bug corrections (improvements wouldn't apply) for at least some years, and they couldn't obligate the users to migrate to Meego if they don't want. That's for sure one of the things Nokia had to take into account when deciding whether to support Meego on N900 or not!

Ok, it leaked!

So far:
-default language is Indian (don't ask me why)
-new, very intriguing theme
-sound has improved greatly
-overall frame-rate 30 or better
-kinetic seems awkward IMHO

Will check further. Try it out ASAP!

friends....have been watching this thread its truly entertaining. It gives me comfort that I aint the lonely one.The worrying aspect though is lack of response from any of the nokia members in the community.they seem to b active in the meego threads though.

As the famous french writer Alexandre dumas said "All human wisdom is summed up in two words - wait and hope".....we sure can wait n hope, and probably be a lot wiser in our expectations the next time we await a release.
