Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
My account seems to be blocked now. Is it caused by using of unofficial client? And what can I do to unblock my account?
NEW: found solution here. https://github.com/CODeRUS/mitakuuluu2/issues/278 |
Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
@TMavica best decision at moment.

Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
is there any specific action, that causes the blocking?
like sending image, sending broadcast or something like that? or did you get blocked, just by having the app running? i think it would be helpful to know peoples "last action" before they got blocked. |

Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
You people who got banned: was "Use connection keepalive" setting enabled in your mitaakuuluu?

Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
keepalive is sailfishos feature, not whatsapp :)

Some weeks after that happened to me, it happened to my brother. So I was thinking maybe the users are not being blocked because whatsapp detected they are using an unsupported protocol, but because they are trying to connect to the server too aggressively. What do you think, is this possible? |
Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
keepalive is sailfishos feature, not whatsapp, it's not related.
|
Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
The same is now with me. Am blocked and can not register to me. Neither via sms or via phone call. No plan if I had c3 server and to keep alive.

Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
just a thought: it seems to be a special problem / suspicious feature / option in Mitakuuluu. i found no reports of recently banned users in threads of Yappari / Whatsup or other unofficial clients...

Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
no its not fail from mitäkuuluu,
here is a news in germany: http://winfuture.de/news,84376.html whatsapp bocked users with different unauthentificated clients. Solution: https://github.com/CODeRUS/mitakuuluu2/issues/278 support@whatsapp.com but for how long it will work? Time to change to textsecure or xmpp with mitakuuluu ui. Maybe coderus accept spending money to do that ;) ... maybe not |
Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
I deactivated Keepalive just in case. If I get blocked I won't be able to register again. The phone number I am using is not mine any more (is an alias from Fonyou service, but they closed). Moreover, if I get blocked, probably I won't use Whatsapp more. I won't give them my real phone number.
I hope kontalk guys finish soon their client (now in betas) and get promotioned by free software community... Is almost just xmpp, is all open protocol, is all free (libre) software, have syndicated servers, OTR encryption... |

it's nothing new, that they want to block inofficial clients, the big difference for us is, now they can block Mitakuuluu, but not e.g. Yappari as it seems by now, so there must be an important difference, we need to find out. |
Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
Yapapri and Whatsup using old protocol, same with S40/Symbian whatsapp, which won't be changed anymore because of too much legacy devices. Mitakuuluu is always on the edge and using latest protocol with all new features :)

Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
Changed to official Whatsapp for time being. The official app is terrible compared to Mitakuuluu in my oppinion...
Anyone know if there is an easy way of importing contacts to android side? Now that I am trying to add contacts through Whatsapp it says not supported. |
Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
@Boxeri reboot/restart aliendalvik. Whatsapp will load your contacts then.

Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
Anybody with paid accounts was banned?
Anybody who registered with android whatsapp and imported account iinto Mitakuuluu, and not registered via Mitakuuluu itself was banned? |
Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
EDIT: Sorry, my memory played a trick on me. While it is true that I was banned I registered my account using the N9 (inofficial) wazaapp Client and NOT the android Version. Sorry for confusion...
Yep to No° 2. I was banned on sunday (I think). My account was registered on android and then imported to Mitäkuuluu. Using Uitukka and latest Mitäkuuluu |
Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
i have a paid account and registered via Mitäkuuluu.
i was not banned, but i switched to android client yesterday, to avoid being banned. |

Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
At the same moment when 0.8.15 came out and I heard about Whatsapp banning numbers I paid 1$ for one year and downloaded 0.8.15. I've no intension to change to android whatsapp since it sucks especially with notifications until I get banned for the first time..
I'm gona continue using mitäkuuluu till the end and I've donated couple times and will continue to do so. And if it matters I registered by using Mitäkuuluu. I know it's a long shot but could Whatsapp just simply observe mitäkuuluu users' statuses "I love mitäkuuluu" to spot them and bann them? |
Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
I have a paid Account, using mitakuuluu 0.8.13. i think i registrated with mitakuuluu. i never imported account from android whatsapp.
no problem with mitakuuluu. not banned. use keepalive and c3.whatsapp server. im from germany if it is interesting? best regards az2111. i think only not paid accounts will be banned. |
Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
Hi there!!
I've not been banned, but since I reset mi phone I can no more login via Mitakuuluu (It says "Registration failed") or import from whatsapp either. Whatsapp via Alien Dalvik works perfectly. How can I solve? I tried to erase conf files but I can't find them (no .conf/coderus/mitakuuluu2.conf). If this can help I could pay..even if I wouldn't to.. |
Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
i dont pay for my account, have a unlimited Account.
Registet years ago per Symbian... used later with Android and later with mitakuuluu..... still banned! :( i never get a message to pay for the account... expire day was 1975 :D |
Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
current results:
- nobody who registered account with android whatsapp and imported to mitakuuluu was banned - nobody who have paid account, not lifetime was banned - only free and lifetime accounts who registered in mitakuuluu was banned correct me if i'm wrong. |

Is this last Mitakuuluu update related to the Sailfish update?
I mean is it advisable to upgrade Mitakuuluu without updating Sailfish? |

Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
I'd rather be banned than use the official client.
|
Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
to avoid banning for now you need to register using android whatsapp and import account to mitakuuluu, without using registration in mitakuuluu itself.
|
Re: [0.8.15] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread
I also registered through Mitakuuluu and never got banned. I also have never paid anything from whatsapp usage.
I did, however, change to using Android side official whatsapp two days ago. Would love to go back to Mitakuuluu, but for some reason I also started to get extreme lagging in Mitakuuluu after the lates mitakuuluu update. I have not updated the Sailfish OS to uitukka |
