I have checked what maemo version i have and it is,

Installed Version: 1.2009.44-1.203.4

Is this the lastest version?

you have a package incosistency, you need to uninstall certain packages first. which ones i cannot say, it differs from person to person.

don't think 44-1 is, i thought it was meant to be 51? :) - hope i'm right?

I'm in mid OTA download of 90mb at the moment on 2g! - lol! - i do make it hard on myself!

It will clear something but not everything so beware of bug 7432 - /opt and /home/user not cleared after firmware reflash

After reflashing and before installing anything else it might be useful to do cleanup in /opt at least. Otherwise you will have some dead weight there which will be hard to find later.
