Nice one, congratz. Day before my order. Looking good, getting excited now. WTF postie hurry up! :D

Yeah no one needs to prove anything. You'd have to be pretty sad to say it's been delivered when it hasn't.

Okay this is taking the piss, so far it seems like October orders were posted but no word on September ones. If mine doesn't arrive today I am seriously thinking of giving MPD a real bollocking as this should not be happening.

I am sensing a pattern. Why are people who are getting the N900 free (include in contract price) getting theirs before people who are part paying for it? I am disgusted MPD are treating people differently.

WooHoo!!
Just got off the phone with MPD to reconfirm credit card details
Phone will be dispatched today :D

As an FYI to interested parties - if you ordered more than 30 days ago and used a credit card, then the order lodged by MPD with your card company will have expired - so they (MPD) are obliged to reconfirm card details with the card holder.

This probably explains why so many people appear to be "jumping the queue" - if their order was within the last 30 days then any credit card stuff will still be valid and so their order will have gone out.
The "early birds" have to be phoned up which takes time - my conversation took 5 minutes (according to my phone) so multiply that by 200 (best case) or 500 (conservative worst case) and divide it by 3 (number of people handling the orders at MPD) and you can see where the delay comes from.

So if you think the above applies to you make sure you are near the contact phone that you gave to MPD on your original order.

On a side note since I work in a "service industry" - cut the team at MPD some slack, they are a small group of people trying to get through a huge number of orders in the shortest amount of time. They are not sitting on their a*ses thinking about when they should start work - they are working their a*ses off to finish the job.
</2 cents>

In fairness, most of the frustration directed toward them, including my own, has been because of the shockingly bad customer communication - I dont doubt that they have their hands full but they would have saved themselves a huge amount of grief simply by sending out more emails to keep their customers up to date - there is no excuse.

Since I ordered it for free on T-Mob contract I had to use my debit card, which was re-credit checked just last friday so payment shouldn't be an issue.

Im still showing "Ready for despatch" (10/11/09 order) - whats the chances that it actually went out the door yesterday, trying to determine whether to ask the wife not to leave the house today in case the postman arrives!

Don't think it does. You don't have an authorisation code which expires after 30 days, but I've been wrong before. Someone who works in the service industry would know. Anyone?

Singh013, does it say "complete" on the MPD site?

Also, did you get a phonecall or anything?

My status still says Ready for dispatch, even though it's here.
Also I haven't had any text from Voda either yet, so my sim card isnt active atm.

I also meant to say, contary to what some people have said in other posts, my package included the little classic nokia charger adapter.

Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers

If my postie arrives and there's no phone MPD shall be getting a phonecall to see if they've dispatched it. If not, then it's all their fault, if they have then it's all RMs fault!

Hopefully in an hour or so I'll be gleefully happy and wont give this a 2nd thought!

Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers

Hi, been following the forum since the beginning of November but this is my first post...just to add to the general sum of info, I ordered 30/10/09, my order status is 'Ready for despatch' and I have had a call at 10.30 this morning from MPD in Reading to take new payment details. I am switching from 3 to Voda, porting my number. Supplied a PAC which expired so supplied a new one by email and phone (took a morning of trying to get through on the phone) and the guy read back to me both the expired one and the valid one and said that they would take care of the number porting. Despatching would hopefully happen today, otherwise in the next couple of days.

Well, I just spoke to them again and despite my order 'pending stock' thehave told me that my credit check has been declined:eek:

I had a credit check when I first ordered (£2 debited, then credited back) and I had one last week (£2 debited and then credited back). I just don't know what to do

Some info guys

1) MPD phones are definately unlocked, my o2 sim works

2) Theres a seal on the box by MPD which says once seal broken the item cannot be returned ! so regardless of whether sim card is used, if you open the box then no returns !

3) The phone is amazing (not rubbing it in for those still waiting) but initial reaction is WOW !

Hopefully us guys (and galls) who ordered after the 10th November will get a status change today too.

I ordered on the 24/11 and still obviously have the 'pending stock' status.

I hope that MDP have actually recieved enough stock to fulfill all of the pre-orders.

Congrats to everyone who should be receiving their devices today, it does look like a quality phone (computer)!

Im at work now, but based on the fact that I can see £84 gone through on my credit card, they rang me yesterday and my order status is now saying complete on the MPD website, I am presuming that I will have an attempted delivery card for me waiting when I get in...

Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers

Hi Guys I am new to the forum, I have been reading with interest your posts over the last few days. Really to gain understanding about peoples experience with ordering the N900 and also to check how the deliveries are going. I have not placed an order just yet as I am unsure as to which way to run with my order, I live in Newcastle in the UK I have just bought out my 02 contract by selling my N96.

I was originally going for the Iphone but touch screen isn’t for me, then I liked the Palm pre but had play with it and feel it just wouldn’t last the 2 years on contract,

So here I am with the N900 and I am 99.9% certain it’s the fone I want.

My query is this I am trying to avoid using MPD as lots people have advised against it.

Can anybody advise when the likes of VODAFONE Store will receive the fone or any other u.k retailer like mobiles.co.uj and or dialaphone?

Cheers
