Still working on the Faenza icon pack. Should be available in a day or so. You will see them in the latest version of the maemo.org theme by Andrew, but they'll also be available as a stand alone pack. (I think I have already said that but anyway...)

Still a few apps to make icons for.

Do you mean changing the icon for contacts and web?

If you mean 'contacts' icon rather than an individual icon, it's in opt/usr/share/icons/hicolor/64x64/hildon and it's called general_contacts.png i believe
Web is same place and called general_web.png

You can write a script that will change the path of the wallpaper and execute it at some interval using scheduler.

Two more from me. Updated my games page with QBW widgets, lots of thanks to Qosmio for this because the QBW icons i borrowed/stole from him then used photoshop to replace the icons inside (removed the 'G' and 'S' and put the words and icons in myself), and the background is one of his from D4klar's deviantart page - thanks guys! In the centre of the page is my custom app search widget icon, and the 'marshall' menu icon is my icon for multitasking
Anyway, icons themselves are OC to 900MHz and 1GHz, General, Silent, Cellular strength, Wifi strength, rootfs space and uptime.

The internet page has an overhaul thanks to D4klar providing the black applet backgrounds to stack web pages. Relocated the shortcuts to the bottom of the screen for a cleaner looking desktop and to admire the view.

If you mean the backgrounds, they're available here mate:

The theme is based on Marina....

...but is heavily customized. I'm trying desperately to get permission from wazd to release my own version of Marina, obviously the second I can I will,

It's the Yellow Note widget, with a Desktop Command Execution widget providing the "Notes" label.

edit: just noticed okuda icons couple posts up. could they fit for a pipboy theme, and is there a way to get the icons to be used like in themecustomizer?

Just a slight update to my last post, i've done some work on the games/QBW page. Modified the Angry Birds, Airport Touch and Tower blocks icons to have no backgrounds (especially important for Tower Blocks, let's face it, the default one is awful!) and moved the icons around with drnoksnes and picodrive perched on appropriate parts of the background, and an angry bird trying to kamikaze Tux ;) and QBW I just did some amendments to have a whole grey/ice-blue theme and also reworked the icon font from wavy to all being upper-arc writing. QBW icons themselves are 900MHz, 1GHz, general, silent, cellular strength, wifi strength, uptime and root space used.

Those icons are from here.

Since they are all mono icons, it is easy to change their color in photoshop/gimp/whatever to suit your needs (I just use the color overlay option in layer properties in Photoshop). I change the color to suit whatever theme I am currently using. I have even used them with the Pipboy 3000 theme.

My desktop. I just like it clean and concise and thus I've left out things like Conky which doesn't bring anything useful on it. I have a separate desktop for networked stuff, like SSH on/off, a few links, and RSS and Facebook feeds. But those are less used so that's why they're not on the main desktop.

Also, Qosmio, what font is that? It's immense

Not completly done yet, still need some more tweaks.
Got kinda bored of my Ubuntu and Alienware themes, and wanted something more "minimalistic".(Still trying to figure out how to change the PNG on Desktop Command Ex Widget, tell me if you know)

So! new theme in progress, I present : Stairway To Heaven. (lol)

That's really good!
RE: cmd, i'd just move to QBW, much more customisable and it's the same codes so you won't have to learn anything. I was really, really overwhelmed by it at first but the basic stuff like that is easy - just 'add cmd' like you do in command execution widget, then change the actual icon presets to what you want.

Thanks alot :)

I've been struggling with QBW for a while, can't really wrap my head around it. (im slow)
The script part is easy, but when it comes to changing the images/icons i get stuck. always ends up as a rectangular grey bar. :|
I'll read some more on that tomorrow i guess.

Just put the image you want (.png) in the queen_beecon_dir in .images in MyDocs, and then in the QBW settings you put the file name in the 'command title settings' bar. So if you want a battery icon and you call the file battery, just put 'battery.png' in that line.
Then all the other lines remove any existing text. So when you open it you'll have 'hide background' etc and under that are 5 white boxes, clear the text from those.
Under that is command title settings, put the .png name in there (the 'scale' is what you use to determine the icon size on the desktop, play around with it and use the height/width meters at the top to get it all together) command results settings leave blank for this type of stuff.
Under that is 'press and progress animation FX' click 'disabled' in the Frames tab. And update policies underneath is similar to the CMD widget, just say 'yes' on the ones you want it to update with.

I don't know why you colored that "screenshot" word since it clearly was a screenshot. But oh well, here's another one so maybe you'll be satisfied now: http://i54.tinypic.com/2ebr8nt.jpg

It's just the maemo.org theme, I only modified the icons to match the orange-grey coloring. Simple yet elegant.

Because all files under /usr are owned by root, not user. You need to log in as root from WinSCP, or copy files to /home/user and then move the files to correct location as root in terminal.

There is no short answer, but essentially it is by applying themes and modifying images and icons.

The truly epic Maemo 5 Mods thread.
I realise it is a huge thread, but there are some gems of information in there.

It would be a good idea to save that general_images icon somewhere as it is likely to be altered and you might not like the next version and it could get changed in a theme update.

I'm not happy with the background colour of that icon, and I'm tweaking some of my other icons as well.

first you must to change the root pasword, use in x terminal

sudo gainroot
passwd user and set a new password for root, diferent that you use to login in winscp (went you type the pasword can not see the letters you write)
retype the password and you get it changed, after that in winscp in the part of loggin write root and in password your new password for root. and that is all.

i did it whit putty, but i think so is same from xterminal, just try it

I wish we have more thanks option for this..
Worked Charm...
Alright if someone else is checking on this.. In a more clear way..

In WinSCP when logging in again,
Host name: IPAddress assigned to N900 on the same subnet as PC
Username: root
Password: ***** the one new password we typed in X Term to change it..
