OK, so I don't have working flashplayer10.1. Is it just me? I looked in the Settings -> Applications and it shows up but it won't tell me the size of the application. Maybe that's a problem? I want to know if it's just me before I re-extract the rootfs.

This is just one alternative on how you can do this (assuming all buttons work, not including proximity sensor and lock switch).

Volume rocker = Volume control
Camera button = Home (hold for task list)
Power button = back (hold to turn of the device)
Keyboard keys = what it says on the keys

Please, NITdroid should be universal for all keyboards, so you dont leave us others out.

simple fix is revert the omap_twl4030keypad.kl file in /system/usr/keylayouts back to file from any other version of nitdroid, this will restore previous keylayout.

camera key is not actualyl counted as a button to the device so its not currently usable at all. and multiple things per key also is not possible far as im aware.

Well, afaik the power button will kill the device if its held in length hard wired. And you all ready got holding the home button to give the task list.

I expect that since so many people wants different button layouts, when all of the buttons work people will upload their custom layouts.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

the holding hoem is part of the ay that button is coded (ie you can do same on a native android device and get the same place)

and the computing line usualyl means flash works, best option is try toystory3.com see if that works

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Today I followed your guide at
"http://wiki.nitdroid.com/index.php?title=N900-instal"
and used newest files and can confirm that it works :)

I had the problem, that my 8GB Card had already a partition, had to create new partitiontable, added partitions, but then had the triangles with "!". I had to unmount the partitons and then I could "Partiton" -> "format" them with GParted.

I have:
100MB FAT32
1,9 GB ext3

I can't download something with the browser, it says "No SDCard" or something like that.

Wanted to try to install "Battlesea" from DOWNLOADURL

Is there a way to install apks from Terminal?

I copied the .apk to /sdcard/Android/ ... there was no "home" dir, maybe I can access the 100MB FAT32 partition from terminal? Haven't tried that yet.

But nice to see WLAN working and the rest

And I have the problem with the keys, too, because this stupid buttonlayout ... fix was posted already, will try to find this file :)

edit:
with "stupid buttonlayout" I meant that one from Nokia ;)

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

I followed every step on the guide, when i boot up, select the android entry on the boot menu, after a short while, i get an error screen with :

Code:

getbootstate: Invalid selection
Choose bootup option:
  2) MMC
  9) Start a shell

and i get stuck there, can't really do much cause i can't type 2 on the keyboard.

EDIT:

Nevermind, i made some typos on the bootmenu entry. Running perfectly now.

The memory card isn't registered if the battery cover is off. I got that error and that was the cause for me.

dj_steve 2010-06-28 21:44

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

I browsed the appstore within the menu and also this other app store thing called Slide? Ive never used android so unsure of why there are 2 types of app stores that basically have the same selection of apps.

Silly Question guys,

Whats the update on the 3D acceleration and Flash 10 at the moment on NiTDroid Froyo? Is this available as yet? (The thread is too long to trail back on the answers to this..)

Thanks..

kingoddball 2010-06-28 23:01

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

No 3D acceleration.
Yes to Flash 10.1.

Edit:
DJ_Steve and e-yes:
I now have a rooted (sounds dirty!) Xperia X10 running Android 1.6.

What files do you need and how do I get them?

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Does anyone know what allows android to boot if it is connected to pc through usb? Would just power through usb cable suffice?

Thanks!

I'm getting this error too with every process. Very fast boot but Android unusable.

Edit: A boot to maemo seemed to fix it, fully functioning.

cd /system/app
tar -cf /system_app.tar .
result file - /system/app.tar, copy to sdcard... well done, you're pirate now:)
on pc yet another step - squeeze the file (lzma - best, bzip2 - good) and up somewhere.

P. S. There are many places around internet better than megasuppaload/rapidshare etc:)

Is the above done on the terminal ON Android phone?
All you want is the /system/app folder compressed?

cd /system/app
tar -cf /system_app.tar

A quick answer. It's worth it, IF you want to test and attempt to help.
We are all just helping test and annoy the developers.
It's still in a VERY premature stage.
It's not something stable that you can play with all day.

But worth it if you enjoy that kind of thing :D

dj_steve, I know you are very busy with other things but are you or e-yes working on getting it to boot withoud rd mode?
It would be great to be able to boot without needing a pc nearby =)

dj_steve 2010-06-29 08:25

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

the new builds (dual boot ones) dont need pc, they will boot quite happily on their own
