We're not nuts, we're just what you would call a hardware enthusiast. :D
Heck, I overclocked the past 4 pc I got. When I found out that my phone can be overclock too, why the heck not. The only thing I would be missing would be my water cooling system, too bad you can't attach those to the phone :p.

This is from master konttori himself earlier in this thread. I have been saying the same thing to a certain degree also.

So for those who think oc'ing will have detrimental effect on the battery life for everyday use, think again. :p

Anyways. Been running mine at 900Mhz for past 8 hours now. I had MicroB browser crash on me once during load. But that used to happen before the overclock also. So I rebooted the phone and it hasn't happened since even with multiple MicroB's open and switch back and forth browsing with them. (btw, the multi-tasking between 4-5 MicroB windows has never been this smooth and snappy before)

Haha I overclock my desktop computers too. But I refrain from overclocking devices where I can't control the cooling. =P

Especially if the devices are compact (e.g. laptops, N900, etc.. =P)

The non-modified factory kernel. So you use this to revert back to factory standard for the avialable frequencies.

Just flashed to 900Mhz. Only been a few mins, so way too early to tell, but initial impressions seem like there is no noticeable improvement in performance (not that I've tried any tasks that are particularly CPU intensive). I'm running Ubuntu on a desktop at home, and I have reflashed the firmware on my n900 at least 5 times before, so flashing the kernel was a breeze. The results on my time_in_state file look suspicious to me though. With the factory kernel my numbers always looked like 90% at 250, and 10 at 600. Since the flash to 900, my stats are 50/50 between 125 and 900. weird. Oh I also opted to remove my crappy plastic protective case on the off chance that might be retaining additional heat. (The device does feel warm, but to be fair I actually often thought it felt warm before the update.)

EDIT:
Ok, I take back what I said about it not being noticeable. Menus are a lot faster, and before when I would send a text message the display used to often lag behind my actual typing by a character or two; no more.

I guess I'm the only guy who's microB's not working @ 800mhz? :(
It starts up and crashes, it wont open bookmarks on desktop, and when I tried to enter the Ovi store, it crashes :S I did try a reboot, any other suggestions?

Well, these percentages are my non-scientific guestimates based on seeing other's results so far:

99% should be stable at 700Mhz.
70% should be stable at 800Mhz
50% should be stable at 900Mhz
20% should be stable at 1.0Ghz
5% should be stable at 1.1Ghz
1% should be stable at 1.2Ghz

So yes, you can definitely be unlucky where it may not be stable at 800Mhz.
Try flashing to 750Mhz and see if it improves. If so, that's probably your stable limit.

I'm wondering that if phone doesnt like to be oc'd what would happen when you try to reflash original speeds? Does it read any speeds from kernel in update mode (press u + connect cable) in case desktop could'nt boot up?
