Anyone interested and capable of doing so please see this post: http://www.hak5.org/forums/index.php...&gopid=173112&

Install tor on the n900 (Tor Status Area Applet) and make sure you also install tor-geoipdb.

Add
Code:

ExitNodes {us}
to the end of /etc/tor/torrc.

Start tor from taskbar and make sure it connects. Keep it connected.

In terminal:
Code:

torify /opt/pyRadio/pyRadio.py
and you should be good (it may take a while to come up). There may be tor related (and for our purposes, irritating) warning popups about DNS privacy leakage but ignore them. What this has done is to "sockify" python, as python does not honour "export http_proxy", thus allowing it to enter the tor network.

One can use the progs "Command Shortcuts" or (the still immature but promising) "Shortcut maker" to ease the use of pyRadio with tor.

Feature Enhancement Request:

Whenever the pandora player pyRadio is playing music and whenever the display is on, just a beep sound in the background without cutting (pausing) the music would suffice (just like how the maemo default media player implements it!!)

I am not sure about the toughness of implementing this. However, I am sure that this is a very useful feature which all pandora music lovers would love to have!!

1. I noticed that the media player default widget actually displays that some unknown track/ artist is being played when the pyRadio is being played. Anyway to actually get the track names/artists to this widget. Just a thought. I might be completely wrong in asking this question!!

2. I am not able to find any maemo player for finetune.com. Is it possible to modify pyRadio to work with finetune?
Thanks.

Hi there,

Could you please see if you can get the track details right via MAFW? I am happy to help anyway I can. It would be great to publish details of pandora via scrobbling or IM Status being auto updated. Thanks!!

When I attempt to pause for an extended period of time (more than a few minutes) resuming doesn't work. If I hit the next song button, it skips to the next song, and plays that fine though.

I've noticed this too.. I haven't had time to look into it. Since skipping seems to work I figure it's a low priority.

As for the track data.. MAFW and scrobbler/etc expect the stream to have embedded information that tell the artist/album/etc. The stream from Pandora doesn't include that, and with MAFW being undocumented I don't know how to manually set those.

ATTENTION- pyRadio is not supported by PANDORA Radio NOW.
It says "INCOMPATIBLE_VERSION|Pandora does not support your client version"

Can this be fixed? Pleaseeeeee..... I almost use this daily!!! Thanks.

Re: [application] pyRadio (Pandora)

I have always liked Pandora, and was excited when this app came out. So thank you for making this.
The problem is that I've never actually got it to work for me.

When I first installed it (months and months ago mind you), I was unable to log in because I forgot my password. After resetting my password I was then able to log in, but unable to play any songs, switch stations or create stations. The stations drop down menu was blank, and when I tried to create a new station, nothing happened. Nothing ever shows us, just

A little frustrated, I gave up and let it go, trying every once in a while, but never asking here what I'm doing wrong.

But today when I tried to log in to pyradio, it just keeps on exiting when I input my password. I tried reinstalling the app and making sure that I had my username and password right, but still. It lets me try one time, then lets me try again, then closes down.

I'm inputting the user and pass like this:

user: xxxx@gmail.com
pass: xxxxx

I do need the "@gmail.com" part right?
I've tried both ways though.
Btw the my login works in microb pandora.com

In any case, can anyone help me with first logging in, then trying to get this to work? Thanks in advance.

Re: [application] pyRadio (Pandora)

It has worked well for me, but today like for others it requests a login and rejects.

As mentioned, it is probably something Pandora has changed.
