btw, I can play 720p XVID with AC3 audio video without overclocking the DSP over 520MHz. Never stutters and plays videos perfectly smooth. Video is 1280x544 resolution using xvid codec and avi container. Video bitrate is 3Mbps and Audio is 448Kbps. So yeah, I'm happy how it is right now. I don't expect it to ever play any high profile H264 so I guess perfect 720p xvid playback is more than satisfactory for me on my N900. =)

Audio bitrate is not so important!! And DO NOT set it else than mono. There is only one mic! XVID and lame MP3 -> MP4. Those are good settings. We want this 720p smooth video on our N900 :) fast! You super guys can custom that later!. Or do we get this update on the normal camera ui?

Another problem found - using Harmattan DSP binaries (i.e. /lib/dsp/* ) breaks skype/gtalk video call functionality. Still not sure why, will investigate.

What I wonder is how often videocall is used (if used at all) as noone has reported it is not working?

I thought it's KP 49 bug, someone mentioned it on this thread...

There could be similar bug in kp49, anyway, I am using harmattan bridgedriver and when I restore stock binaries (and stock gstreamer0.10-dsp) everything works OK. TBH it is most probably gstreamer0-10-dsp from Harmattan which brings the problem, not the codecs itself. Still no source code though :(

Does it also break SIP video call functionality, and using N900 video as "internet camera" for desktop PC's programs (SmartCam provides it for Windows boxes, VLC for Linux ones, if I recall correctly)?

Hey, we have plenty of users "spamming" or belowed "Active Topics" with N950/N9 threads. Really, none of them can request source code of LGPL'ed thing contained in Harmattan?

after installing 720p update , it's works perfect
but my Blessn900 stoped working , after i take picture it's crash
so it's 720p update problem or i did wrong ?

Seems so. Sad but true. I even asked stskeeps for help few days ago, took me an hour to convince him that source code is not available :) , lets see if he will help.

Yes it's bug, if you restore dspbridge driver blessn900 will work again, but no 720p recording...
