I see your point but I don't remember calling anybody a fanboy. I only questioned your idea that somebody who asks for Elops resignation is unable to integrate with normal people which was more an ad hominem attack on that person than my post could ever be. If that ad hominem attack wasn't enough hypocrisy for one post you also seem to be unhappy that TMO has become more mainstream in recent years which actually goes against that very opinion of yours. it's actually the normal people that are commenting here now. If you don't like what they are posting then ignore it, don't get worked up about it and insult them. That's what the normal person would do. |

OK... I used 'ad hominem' once in a post and now it's being repeatedly used. I suggest we add this phrase to the TMO drinking game. Every time someone calls out that phrase, we all take a drink. :)
Reference to the original thread: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=29907 Cheers! PS: Wow! I just realized that thread started in the Internet Tablet Talk era of mid-2009. Appropriately, something we should go back to--talking about TABLETS instead of concentrating on a specific brand that decided to back-stab its community. Also appropriately, you should probably take a drink for every time I say that. :) |

hmm symbian, maemo and meego.. the worst of those 3 is surviving.. i dont get it. only because symbian has such a history doesnt mean its any good. i sold 2 symbian devices already 1 week after i bought them. maemo would be perfect and now there is meego.. its also good but for me, it looks like a copy with a different UI (i might be wrong because i am not a software specialist). well and windows mobile... i can just laugh about it

meamo never was for tablets last time i checked, Maemo devices are called Mobile Internet Devices / MID of course, you can say MID was just NOKIA's word for tablet, but still... also, as far as i know, NOKIA is the only brand that ever produced (and still produces with Harmattan) Maemo devices. thus, the topics here should actually be only about one brand, no? Golly gee, mister, but the entire time I checked, mind you--over the years, Nokia referred to the 770, N800, N810 and N810WE as Internet Tablets. They're small--but they were still tablets as much as any Palm or Newton was called a tablet for decades. So, it appears that 'TABLET' was also Nokia's word for a tablet. All they had to do was start listening to customer demands for bigger screens and all the other stuff people now expect from tablets that Nokia was on the CUSP of doing themselves. Additionally, this forum USED to be called InternetTabletTalk (you can still get here from http://www.internettablettalk.com in fact) long before it decided to more FIRMLY put its sausage into Nokia and call it talk.maemo.org. Nothing you've said was either accurate nor correcting--I'm not even sure why you bothered writing a reply if you didn't at least have some first-hand knowledge or at least research this stuff first. Here... let me help you. Just a little bit this time: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_internet_tablet Quote:
