Who knows, we would get an announcement from Nokia first (and probably a post from Peter on here). And it'd be in the news on maemo.org and news on every technology site with the headline "n900 finally gets out of the gate and is buggy as hell" =P

I do hope that it ships soon though (e.g. this week). I was hoping to have it in my hands by next week.

Hell yeah. I mean, American football has a guy called the KICKER. Does your "football" have that? :p

Re: N900 shipping delayed

I've been waiting patiently (well, kinda) for my pre-ordered N900(s) since september.
A couple of days ago I used my iPhone 3G to look for a release date update on nokia.se, and clicked to pre-order the N900. But what popped up was the N97. :D

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a34ZIs47gYE

I've reported the "bug" to Nokia Sweden, so I expect them to fix it soon, but as of now it's still the N97 that pops up.

Re: N900 shipping delayed

I think that Nokia does have a problem in that the N900 is a far superior phone to the N97, but they are both at nearly the same price point.

No way nokia is going to ship today, without first publicizing the date.

The N900 meetup in London is on the 17th so I think it makes sense that it will ship that week or the week just after.

I agree it would make sense, if it were not for the comments from sales people at Nokia.

I am starting to lose faith a bit - no bank or email account activity yet.

Wow, I just popped by to wish fellow UK shoppers a happy shipping day, thinking that I might get a confirmation email by the end of the day. But now I am just feeling so chill compared to the general forum vibe that I shall have a spring in my step all day :-)

as much as I love the discussion, are you sure you want to continue these threads endlessly? The day we start shipping you will see a Nokia press release announcing just that. The first Nokia N900 will not magically appear in some shop suddenly, somewhere, sometime, but we will let you know when we start shipping from the factory.
Unless Nokia has invented teleportation that means the press release will have to be at LEAST a day before any N900 can be shipped to customers. Unless of course Nokia are shipping direct from the factory to the customer for Nokia supplied devices, which sounds unlikely.

True.....
But I'm a bit confused with Nokia.... They have it in their flagship stores. But also in stores like Heathrow? yet no advertising or press release... it seems really strange that they must be final models now - yet no noise from nokia!

Maybe a press release soon, but i'm realistically expecting the device next week :) (The inner child/nuknuk is saying "gimme one now now now now now!!!")

It might be that the stock has arrived but Nokia has put up a "don't ship" policy to do synchronized release and ad campaign.

We can't "trust" anyone, not even the Nokia UK shop as they are not actually Nokia.

The only thing we can trust as has been said before many times:
