Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers

T-mobile just did a 2.00 credit check on my account (I paid by debit for the delivery). I ordered on 21st October with the T-mobile account, my order status is still 'ready to despatch'. What does it all mean?

Really to gain understanding about peoples experience with ordering the N900 and also to check how the deliveries are going. I have not placed an order just yet as I am unsure as to which way to run with my order, I live in Newcastle in the UK I have just bought out my 02 contract by selling my N96.

I was originally going for the Iphone but touch screen isn’t for me, then I liked the Palm pre but had play with it and feel it just wouldn’t last the 2 years on contract,

So here I am with the N900 and I am 99.9% certain it’s the fone I want.

My query is this I am trying to avoid using MPD as lots people have advised against it.

Can anybody advise when the likes of VODAFONE Store will receive the fone or any other u.k retailer like mobiles.co.uj and or dialaphone?

Cheers

Should be sometime in january if i remember rightly

Looks like its all starting to sort itself out...

Great to hear that ninhaboxergirl!

I don't even have that much anger towards MPD anymore!

I must say I'm glad that mine's coming from Banbury, not Reading. Although its nowhere near me (and Reading is far closer), Banbury told me I'd have it tomorrow and it WILL be shipped today. Reading said they'll try and ship today, if not, next week... That's not good!

Yes but remember this classic sales analagy.

Under promise, Over Deliver.

if your told it will be shipped and arrive tomorrow and it doesnt, you will be infuriated.

If you told in the next few days and it is there tomorrow, well there ya go, much better scenario

Just had 'the call' from MPD in Southampton to re-take payment details (due to the >30 day lapse)

Vodafone PAYG / 18th September - status now: 'Ready to dispatch'

Guy on the phone said should be with me tomorrow - subject to Royal Mail - Finally some good news!

sucks crayfish :(

But surely it wont be the postie delivering the phone?

Wouldnt it be Parcel Force which a different section of Royal Mail?

Is there anybody who has ordered on contract who hasn't had the '£2' credit check applied to their account?

I have just checked my account and I haven't. Should I be worried?

Everyone who paid/part-paid for their phone I believe such as me. With me they temporarily held the WHOLE amount, then freed it, as part of the credit check.

The £2 I think is for people who are getting the phone free as part of the contract as part of their credit check.

Nugget's came via normal postie. Guess it depends how many are being delivered to one area, if it's only one package per "postie round" then the postie can manage it.

I've had it twice now! First when I ordered (21st Oct) and another one today (by T-mobile, £2). Not sure what that means either! :(

Ahh I know - he did play his get out of jail free card though and said that it is dependent on Royal Mail doing deliveries in my area on a Saturday... I've got a pretty busy weekend though, so I guess its not a biggie if it doesn't come till next week. I really want it by Monday though as I'm away with work on Tuesday and Wednesday and would love to take it with me to show off to my colleagues! Lol. There's a girl I work with who loves her iphone a bit too much... not that I'll convince her that this is better, but I'll be safe in the knowledge that >I< think it is! Haha

Hi guys! Been folling this forum, since last week. Congrats to the ones that have recieved their N900's.

Did you get a email as follows:confused:

Those of you who have applied for the N900 and have not heard from us need to:

· Use our online tracker to find the status of your order.
· If your status is ‘pending stock’, this literally means we are waiting for the stock, however your application for contract or PAYG has been approved and your order will be filled when the stock is here and ready to be despatched.

If you did, thats well out of order! I ordered on 01/11/09 Yesterday changed to ready to dispatch. Hope this does not happen to anymore of us.

Can someone who has got a MPD phone confirm that they are unlocked? I want to get one with a vodafone contract which my other half will use I'll use the N900 on three.

Can anyone confirm the firmware version on the phones shipping now as well? (i.e. will they work with a 3 sim card)

Yes I got that e-mail. The woman I spoke to was very off-handed and told me they were trying to 'override' the credit check:confused: Hubbie thinks they are lying and it is just another excuse for the delay, I am not so sure and feel really disheartened:(

Someone has confirmed that their O2 sim works. But last I heard N900 still didn't work on 3, though I haven't followed the latest up-to-date info on that because I have no intention of using a 3 sim in my N900.

Where the hell is my postman!! I couldn't have missed him...perhaps he had nothing at all for me today and so i did miss him! But he normally parks his bike over the road, surely he wouldn't have changed that habit!? (arg! think I'm going insane!)

I reckon they do deliver on Saturdays, certainly I've had post here (Sheffield, is that where you are?) on a Saturday so I'm hoping that applies to parcels as well...

Maybe they are lying. I think you would have been notified if it was declined when you first ordered it. Call and speak to someone else later, see what happens.;)

Royal Mail do, but I am not sure Special Delivery do as they have a extra charge for Saturday delivery. It might only be for Guaranteed Saturday delivery, but I cannot remember.

Guaranteed Saturday Delivery costs extra, but most Special Deliveries will be delivered before 1pm on a Saturday anyway. It just depends on how close you are to a major sorting office and if you have a postman delivering on Saturday.

Special Deliveres go out with the postie, not parcelforce. If the box is really big, a separate man in a van will go around.

But yes - Specials DO turn up on Saturdays. You can check this all on the Royal Mail website...

Hi everyone I'm new to this forum following for few weeks I got one question if anyone can help when will I get my n900 what I need to do

1: fully charged before turn it one?
2: turned it one and the fully charged before using?
3: use a bit then charge?
4: drain the battery then charge?
5: or put simcard in then charge?
Or I have to do anything else because I don't want any problems with mic or battery. Thanx in advance every one.

And I hopefully get my phone tomarow order 20/10 and had credit check and showing ready for dispatch. But no call.

Ah I had not noticed that, so that WAS one of the things they worked on during the delay. Not that I will utilise it myself, but its good to know.
