It would be great to be able to boot without needing a pc nearby =)

Please see the first post on the help/tutorial thread. You can disable the RD mode flashing.
You leave it in RD mode permanently. I've been in RD mode for more than a month. :D
No need to PC.

Just to point out to some people, nano is an editor so it may not be installed, leafpad, vim or any similar will do also.

Although nano is my personal favorite.

If someone wants to do something, help me expand those pages
http://wiki.nitdroid.com/index.php?title=Changelog
http://wiki.nitdroid.com/index.php?title=Multiboot

Just keep the Wiki syntax and formatting :)

I should have added that.
That text was taken from the help/tutorial wiki which has all of that stated.
Thanks for that.

Edit: DJ_Steve & e-yes, I have uploaded the files you guys need from Android.
e-yes, do you want the files from /system/app/*? (this is not the location for apps installed from MarketPlace)

can anyone tell me how maemo runs day to day with this setup? ie dual boot, rd mode etc?

id like to test it out but afraid ill lose day to day use of maemo.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

You will need to uninstall Titans kernel.

It does NOT effect Maemo.

I'm an idiot...

Nevermind

Also.. any chance you can add a mirror for NITDroid for N900? Getting 23-40 kbps, whereas am on 25mbit connection.

Just testing download speed from 1024kB/s net
Speed stayed around 600 for a while, then went up&down, and now is at 330kB/s. It's not too bad.

They should, the kernel supports overclocking...

@DJ_Steve: Maybe you can add a link to my tutorial or the wiki so you don't have to deal with users asking how to it. Also link to the help topic so that this topic stay relatively clutter-free ;)

Good afternoon sir, I am inquiring on why the official Android app store isn't supported in your Froyo N900 port.

Your Answer: I answered this on every single page of this thread. It's not supported yet.

Can you also upload the Images on a torrent tracker? Then you could add the current servers as webseeds, and everyone could help share the love.

I for one will be seeding the latest revision if you do this.

Don't forget to donate if you find it useful!

Thanks for that nice script!
Isn't already possible to flash an from within the device?
Will the script use <2GB ext3 partition?
Great!

Great!

I think both DJ_Steve and I forgot about the <2GB partition "issue", however it works without any problems for me. Unfortunately flashing doesn't work right now but hopefully will be sorted soon(power-kernel does flashing too FYI).

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Okay, good to know!
Two more questions:
Is it correct that the zImage file is only 1.8MB in size?
Why do I have to uninstall Titans power kernel? I thought Nitdroid would support overclocking!? Or can I install Titans power kernel after flashing again?

btw: I have donated a little bit to you :)

zImage is only the kernel, it wont do anything with the rootfs.
zImage supports overclocking, but Titans kernel isn't supported. So you can still overclock even though you have zImage installed, but most other modules will be gone IIRC.

DaSilva 2010-06-29 22:27

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Just to make sure that I have understood this correctly:
I have to uninstall Titans power kernel but it doesn't matter if I only use it for overclocking and I can still use the same configs and commands (like kernel-load ulv) I have used for overclocking after flashing zImage!?

I think overclocking is working only by editing /etc/pmconfig... Not very sure though.
