Hi Freemangordon,i think the largest problem that comes with new libglibs is than gps become unusable,I tried almost all libgilbs, but result it's the same,if someone is managed to wake up gps,let share it.

Sorry, still segfault at start with new libglib2. Stock libglib2 works with either leafpad.

Edit: I might even try debugging with new gdb (;)) later to find what's going on but not before about 9pm tonight due to family reasons.

Correct :(

But it segfaults on another place this time, seems leafpad is buggy as hell :(

main.c, on line 385, ifactory is uninitialized.

****, this become a leafpad support thread. Anyway, going to push a fixed version in the autobuilder

Icidentally, isn't CSSU-Thumb based on CSSU-Testing? The way I interpret it is that Thumb is always one step behind Testing. Does this new libglib put it ahead of Testing? Not that I am complaining, quite the opposite. But I thought I'd make sure I am on the right track.

Well, there is no new metapackage in the repo, so this new glib is not "released" in a way :).

Yep, you got it right, -thumb is supposed to follow -testing. But cssu-testing maintainer is a bit busy for a couple of months, with no clean idea when he'll be available. So for some time -thumb will be ahead of -testing.

Wouldn't it be better to promote to TESTING and follow the whole testing, voting and quarantine procedure and THEN promote to extras (so, in fact, adding you as the maintainer to enable pushing for you)? That would require only as much "playing God" as necessary ;)

Would it be? The same QA that allowed such a stupid bugs to pass unnoticed? For a package the maintainer of which doesn't care anymore? Not to say I *don't* want to be a maintainer of leafpad.

However, fixed leafpad is in -stable, so the above is rather rhetorical :)

I also suffer this problem.
After the last thumb update, Sygic can't lock anymore.
I don't think it's a-gps problem, because I have updated certman.
And I get "Verified OK" when I run this command:
Code:

cmcli -T common-ca -v supl.nokia.com:7275

I had a similar issue after update. gps icon pulsing in status menu but no fix, with or without a-gps (tested with location-test). Reboot solved mine. Problem is this was noticed a few days after update and I have no recollection if I rebooted before that....

I'm not sure if these messages were there before update... but syslog reports:

drive[1601]: GLIB DEBUG liblocation - location_gpsd_control_start_internal:1254 application method set to 0xc
drive[1601]: GLIB CRITICAL ** GLib - g_ptr_array_foreach: assertion `array' failed

...but after some time you can obtain a fix.

Reboot didn't solve mine, it still can't get a fix.
But when I try to get a route to a location, Sygic almost immidiately get a fix on my current location.

i have a problem with trackerd.
With newer glib it can't reindex the files and update the database.

If the database /home/user/.local/share/tracker/data/common.db does not exists, tracker does not create a new one.
(also the log /home/user/.local/share/tracker/trackerd.log remains untouched)

To confirm the issue, it's the second time i go back to glib 2.22.4 and tracker starts working again.

As soon as i downgrade glib(also without reboot), trackerd can run again restarting the daemon.

I have changed/moved a few media files, forced a trackerd rebuild db.
Result: ZERO files available. (no images, no video, no music)

reboot, rebuild db... ZERO files (also no tracked-indexer process = no cpu load)

downgrade glib ....rebuild db ok, tracked-indexer process with usual cpu load. All fine

- then second try.
Upgraded glib. Reboot. Forced trackerd to rebuild the db. nothing... no process, no db, no log, no cpu load.
Downgrade glib. Force rebuild... high cpu load, process present, logs updated and db updated in some minute.

Removing stopwords.en or adding a few spaces inside seems to solve the problem but does not explain the different behavior with new glib..

Could it be related to something other which tracker uses? Like external plugin (ogg? or other media format support from extras?)?

The problem is in that glib commit:
https://git.gnome.org/browse/glib/co...8a6a1a26425301

I am still undecided whether to patch glib or to fix trackerd

EDIT:
By grepping through / for g_mapped_file_get_contents and by looking in the code of the binaries that call it, it seems only trackerd does not handle that NULL value, I'll leave it as it is for now, if there are no more problems with glib, I'll fix trackerd

Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900

I have a question. The last two CSSU Thumb2 upgrades on my N900 have not rebooted cleanly. I am currently upgrading to the release from yesterday, and it has had a blank screen, and it has been blank for the last 20 minutes. The last time, I rebooted, cringing the whole while. Earlier upgrades rebooted cleanly after the install.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,

For the record, I did have to manually reboot, and it did come back. I left it sit for about 45 minutes, and it stayed at a blank screen.

Is something wrong with my N900? Did I install some piece of software that might be causing it?

Thanks,
