I can't wait! That would be completely awesome.

Even more awesome would be the fact that with PR 1.2 you can control the volume in MediaBox while the phone is locked. :D

Question: About the scrolling framerate - will/can it be improved?

There have been some improvements recently, so yes, it should become better.

And by using MAFW, will the CPU usage while playing music be reduced? Sorry I'm such a nag haha :D

I don't know. Should be on par with the Nokia Media Player. But in the end it's still GStreamer that's playing the stuff.

Well that's great news! The default media player runs at about 25% usage while the current version of mediabox is about 35-40% during playback.

So will there be continuous shuffle play for videos? I use my phone to play music videos.

Re: MediaBox Media Center 0.96 with UPnP and more

I have used for a few time the new version 2010.06.12, and i'm happy because now the look is nice and minilyrics (lrc) shows in bigger area however there are some problems with syncronization, some times the text is showed some seconds later and the tagged time in file is correct.

Depending of the music you are listening this could be unusable, for example songs with fast lyrics.

Is possible you have a minimum time for display each text? (this could be the problem)

And other recommendation could be to show the previous and next lines but show with a stronger colour or bigger font the actual line.

Example of one failed lrc:
[artist:Flogging Molly]
[title:May the Living Be Dead (In Our Wake)]
[album:Drunken Lullabies]

[0:12.235]Said her name was Marie
[0:14.194]From the banks of the Lee
[0:16.155]With the prettiest eyes my own had ever seen
[0:19.312]Her hair like ripples

Hopefully the MAFW backend will solve this problem.

Which player backend (oms, mplayer, GStreamer, Mafw) and which file format produces this problem?
I have noticed that the mplayer backend on Diablo has this problem when playing FLAC. Ogg OTOH seems fine. FLAC position reading is broken in the Diablo version of mplayer, btw, and MediaBox computes and applies a correction factor.

Thanks, pycage! The new version of mediabox showed up in my feeds yesterday, and I downloaded and installed. It looks awesome. I like the shelf concept, so now I can place directories on the shelf instead of having to juggle playlists. As usual, you did an amazing job.

One question. Can you still star media like you could in the previous version? I haven't run across it yet, and it was pretty handy in my case, because I listen on my commute, and generally would get to work or home in the middle of a track.

Thanks again, this is one of the most-used apps on my N810.
