Re: Dialcentral 1.0
I did a reboot, my actual settings in DC were saved, but again, in
/home/user/.dialcentral/settings.ini there's no apparent change. |

Re: Dialcentral 1.0
Okay. So I'm now using 1.3.9.
I have it set to application alert, is this correct? Anyway, I'm still not receiving any LED notifications though. |

Background alerts are what DC has always had for Diablo. Now that the previous background alert bug is fixed I am baffled as to why it isn't working now. I'd be even more baffled by application alerts not working. |
Re: Dialcentral 1.0
I'm still getting nothing.
Both with background or application alert, even with DC running. |
Re: Dialcentral 1.0
Oh, and before you ask, I do have all of my settings turned on in the Control Panel Display LED thingy. :)
|
Re: Dialcentral 1.0
Still haven't figured out what I broke, sorry
Also I am uploading some new packages, nothing to fix things for Addison but there is a chance to break things for Maemo 5 users. You have been warned :) |
Re: Dialcentral 1.0
For a quick fix in the meantime, mind looking at this post Ed? :)

Re: Dialcentral 1.0
Hey heavyt.
I'm now using this method, going to the google.com/voice/m site in Tear and setting the zoom in and out option at .8 instead of .1. http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=105 This will give you one minute notifications for all your emails, so if you have your SMS messages forwarded, you'll get this right away. You also won't get notifications sending a message like DC tends to do at times. I really like this setup so maybe you might like it as well. :) |
Re: Dialcentral 1.0
For now I am using 1.1.13 because LED notifications still works. It seems to be the best of all builds for N8xx. ;-)
|
Re: Dialcentral 1.0
Thanks, I must have missed that version.
All I can say is that going at least 6 weeks without notifications in DC led me to my current setting. I also like it that if I subscribe to a thread here or at another forum, it will tell me right away if someone posts in it. :) |
Re: Dialcentral 1.0
I have been using version 1.3.11 for about 2 weeks now on a N810, so far it seems to be stable.
But I found I am not able to change Background Alerts from 5 minutes. It will default back to 5 no matter what minutes interval I select in the account page after applying my options. |

That log is confusing. The setting isn't taking because when applying it, DC gets a Permission Denied error. I've never heard of that happening on Maemo 4 or Maemo 5, not too sure what could cause it, and haven't seen it on my Maemo 4 device (EDIT: I put Maemo 5 instead of 4). Was it that you upgraded from 1.3.10 to 1.3.11? Had you changed anything else on the system lately? |

Since 1.3.6 is so readily available I'd be curious to hear how that one is for you. I think once you have a PyQt app installed through extras, you can enable extras-devel and upgrade / install additional ones. |
Re: Dialcentral 1.0
Tried 1.3.6 and 1.3.11 now I can't set time in alerts, defaults to 5. Getting no alerts now

Where are all the files for DC, lets remove them and start fresh

DialCentral 1.3.6-0 and GV password change, hanging
I searched for this problem but can't implement the suggestions I found. I had DC 1.3.6-0 running for SMS use only. I just got SIP configured successfully to be able to use DC for voice but had to change my GV password as part of the process. Now DC tries to login with old PW and hangs as a result.
I found a post that indicated there is a settings dialog for this but the drop down menu won't let me go to "account". Message says "must be online for settings". Um, if I was online I wouldn't need a settings dialog :) Reinstall didn't help. Ideas welcome. Also, If I end up needing to edit a config file directly to fix this, can I get file manager to show me the OS file system rather than the basic view? I'm don't speak enough linux to dig it out via command line. |

Which device and OS version do you have? I don't think you can get a fancier file manager view and I've not played around with alternative ones. No file editing should be needed though, all you should need to do is a delete a file if it comes to that. I'll psot the instructions if things don't work out with "login" |
Re: Dialcentral 1.0
D'OH! I have been navigating the dizzying technical heights of setting up SIP accounts all day without asking a single noob question, and here I miss this one. I didn't expect a credentials dialog at the "login" menu. I figured I'd already tried 42+ times to login with no luck I wasn't going to push no dern button marked "login".
Thanks for the quick response. |
Re: Dialcentral 1.0
I fired up DC the other day on my N810 and it failed to log into Google Voice ("not accessible"). Is anyone else having this problem?
|
Re: Dialcentral 1.0
I no longer use DC but it probably has something to do with this.

Re: Dialcentral 1.0
Thanks, Addison, that was a big help. I got past that error by typing this into the terminal:
Code:
sudo leafpad /opt/dialcentral/lib/backends/gvoice/gvoice.py Then, search for self._loginURL. Change the URL after it from https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLoginAuth to https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLoginAuth. Save. Close. Etc. Now on to the next error. Edit: ah, next error magically went away. I appear to be fully operational. Yay! |

Nokia N810
Latest firmware CSSU Diablo-Turbo I've installed Dial Central and unistalled it 10 times and it's never worked. Not once will it, or has it ever even started the app. Is DC broken... thrown to the wayside for the n810? |
