Re: Overclock the N900?
Incidentally, a day after I asked the above question, my N900 is now dead as dead can be.
I'm guessing eMMC/rootFS corruption as the N900 simply gets stuck in the loading screen after the Nokia logo at boot, although I COULD flash the rootFS. So, this related to rootFS / eMMC data write corruption due to undervolting? Because I can say that this is the first time I've seen an N900 die DUE TO USE rather than being dropped or anything. |
Re: Overclock the N900?
...I think - and Titan may think finally - new challenges are up; the "fCamera" does not seem to run with Titans v37 kernel; and who is willing to miss the extra power Titan gave us taking DNG RAW pictures; Titan - your turn ;-)

But yeah, I don't recommend too much undervolting. It's the same as too high frequency. If the cpu can't handle the frequency at its given voltage / heat, it will start generating too much errors. |
Re: Overclock the N900?
I cannot install Enhanced kernel (nor the settings)
It gives me a message "conflic of the aplication packets" (or something like that - Im translating from polish ;) ) Under the specifications menu (still - or something like that ;) )it is listed that the problems are with kernel-modules-maemo and kernel-maemo. I have pretty much clean system, some apps and games (also rootsh).. Any ideas? |
Re: Overclock the N900?
I am new to this forum as i just got my N900 today. I have been reading the progress of this thread when it started but have not kept myself updated with the progress recently.
So sorry if my question seems dumb. Please bear with me. I am aware that the N900 stock frequency is 600MHz and the minimum frequency is set at 250MHz. I would like to know if it is possible to keep the same stock frequency but drop the minimum frequency to 125MHz. Which kernel should i use to get the desired results? Also will doing this help increase the battery life? |

If you want to configure 125-600, it's possible, but: a) 125 was disabled by Nokia due to instability b) phone sleeps at 0, not at 250. Lowering to 125 will only make it drag its feet c) these and more answers in the wiki. d) battery gain is minimal, if not negative. |
Re: Overclock the N900?
If I overclock using this tutorial "http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=595582&postcount=774"
Will I still be able to use the AM and updater? |
