I agree with what s4br0s0 wrote. I think that the way to go is to get an established stable version of the cssu package and then build on it.

Nicolai, what is the feasibilty of porting the Meego calender to Maemo? Is it technically possible?

Which one?
If there is a calendar app based on QtMobility, this could
work. Meego and Maemo5 uses different calendar backends
and QtMobility hides this difference. But if the calendar app
uses Meegos calendar backend directly, it wont work.

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

Hi I don't know if anyone can help me. I have been experiencing random crashes often with modest as soon as I update to the CSSU. I believe I am experiencing this bug. I tried with previous versions of the CSSU and even with this one, but Modest still keeps crashing frequently. I had to reflash everytime because email is very important to me.

Is there any way for me to enjoy the other features if the CSSU? Maybe I could pin modest and tinymail packages so they don't get upgraded or maybe a way to upgrade only certain packages manually from the CSSU?

You can add it manually, like this:
Code:

echo whitelist = FBReader >> /usr/share/hildon-desktop/transitions.ini
Code:

gconftool -st bool /apps/osso/hildon-desktop/desktop_orientation_lock true
Or, if you want to block rotation of whole hildon-desktop, including launcher and menu:
Code:

gconftool -st bool /apps/osso/hildon-desktop/ui_can_rotate false

Hi
Thank you !
The whitelist working good, but the other 2 commands is lock my phone in the landscape mode, not in portrait mode that I want...
Thanks
.

Same here, the 2nd command locks my desktops in the landscape mode.

what about maliit?

it would be nice to have a new, embedded and portrait friendly keyboard, even when cssu already stated that a new keyboard is not planed, is it possible to get maliit work on fremantle?

i like how it looks :p

To fix the CSSU Features from the Power Menu. :)

I've personally not had any problems with this CSSU and I thank everyone involved greatly. From my personal point of view, and I know I'm not the only one, you folks are providing greater support for the N900 than Nokia ever have, and I truly appreciate it! :D

I couldnt agree more.

I have had no problems with CSSU at any time - my device runs flawlessly, its fast and reliable.

I dont know the names of those involved, but massive thanks and respect are due.:)

anyone having problems with vlc remote?
its closing after a few second after connecting to the vlc server with a segmentation error since the cssu update, the 16.5 update didnt solve this, ive allready tried purging the app with no luck
appart from that, update is great! working a litlle bit faster also (or maybe is a placebo effect, but even so its a good placebo!!)
