I would imagine we'll get a memo the exact same day that they decide they can no longer make the end of July. I doubt that Jolla itself has quite given up on that yet, considering their blog:

Our end-July shipping target may be affected by the extra work necessary to complete the display switch. We are monitoring the status daily, and will keep you informed of the situation.
So at least someone in the company is still hopeful that the hardware issues will be ironed out fairly soon...

Three event must happen and I would assume both 1 and 2 takes approx a week. Would you dare to instal sw in tablet without (The final) screen could save some time. But would never ship a product like that. (Given its hw-related). If it's sw-related it might be possible...with some skill and lot of luck.
  • Flash the sw (by jolla like the phones?) They ship from Asia..?
  • Send out address, vat email and collect responses
  • Pack and ship

I cant see how they could pull this off before end of July...Unless starting tomorrow...

I just wonder if you guys are taking into consideration the complexity of launching a new device like the Jolla Tablet. New version of the OS, new hardware ODM, new... Well a lot.

If a wait means it'll be better when I get it, so be it. IIRC the Nexus 9 was internally delayed more than the couple of months for the Jolla Tablet so far and Google and HTC are considerably larger.

Foolishly or not; I'll grant Jolla my faith for now. But it doesn't mean that I expect it to ship until August. And that's fine with me. Gives me more time with Android M Preview.

Other than your rampant nonsensical posts based on speculation and conjecture?

So... nothing has changed at all indeed. Seriously man, not even your beloved Ubuntu Edge came to the market. Yet Jolla did. Let's see how it plays out.

yep, I love speculations, no doubt. the main thing to conider is what jollas providing, like their edtimated delivery days. personally I consider the complexity to be included in there somewhere.

yep, love crowdfunding too and new products. ubuntu edge was a great campaign execution with an impossible goal and bad end result. jolla is doing a bad campaign but hopfully with happy ending and a great product. why bring up ubuntu?

anyone knows what percentage to use to import jolla tabket to different countries. is it standard import tax jolla call vat?

My understanding is that it's VAT - import tax hasn't been mentioned, but it's a good point _if_ the tablet comes from HK; however, you would normally pay that on delivery, i.e., your postal service will charge you that as opposed to Jolla.

I suppose these detials are being worked out now and we'll know more -guess when?- soon!

If the case is coming in the same shipment as the tablet, this would indicate that the tablets will be in finland... maybe. Unless they hope to find each other in some kind of international postal hub :D

No.

Ubuntu Edge was a marketing campaign for Ubuntu Touch, it was never meant to succeed as a crowdfunding campaign.
The timeline and goal was delibrately set up so that it was not possible to succeed. I consider it an evil piece og marketing and misinformation. Really cheap and ugly. I hate that kind of thing.
