there seem to be mixed results with 3g. Some report that disabling data roaming allows 3g to work. No luck for me either with US T-mobile. Strange because most do not seem to be affected.

Source? or link? or any kind of evidence?

In nitdroid forum there isn't any kind of information of this nature

I'm a tester so can see the post. Haven't tested yet but according to the changelog, calls still aren't functional. Not a problem for me though. Will test soon.

On a quick look, what seems to be improved/added? This must be a significant update since it went from 0.0.9 to 0.1.1

I was pretty much sure that calls wouldn't work. I am not a tester though. As per e-yes, we would get informed if calls will work soon but its not the case yet. Meego can make calls via ofono but nitdroid can't do it yet, just don't have any clue why it shouldn't work by now.

@Joseph9560

Calls can be made in NITDroid but audio isn't routed to the speaker.

By calls, I mean audio in calls. And yes I am aware that calls can be made without voice.

"Meego can make calls via ofono but nitdroid can't do it yet"

That is what I was responding to. I'll assume it was merely a case of wrong word usage.

Re: The Grand Nitdroid Thread - N11 RC for Testers Released

@Joseph9560

It is my understanding that:

Maemo uses pulseaudio, android uses alsa. The problem with calling is getting the audio properly routed using alsa.

So while ofono works in MeeGo, it has no effect on the problem in nitdroid.

I thought battery drainage was fixed in 0.0.9

I am not a tester so don't know about changelog. And battery drainage?? My experience says I have more battery life in nitdroid than in maemo. I browse through UCWeb in nitdroid and opera or microb in maemo. And yes UCWeb is light and hence consumes lesser power and is one of the reason for longer battery life.

P.S.: uninstalling nitdroid from the EMMC would be
sudo mount -o bind /home /and && sudo aptitude remove nitdroid-kernel && sudo rm -r /home/{acct,bin,cache,config,data,default.prop,dev,etc,i nit,init.nokia.rc,init.rc,initrd,lib,mnt,opt,proc, sbin,sdcard,sys,system,tmp,usr}

Re: The Grand Nitdroid Thread - N11 RC for Testers Released

What has changed in N11(from e-yes):

- New Gapps preinstalled (market should be downloaded automatically after login to google account)
- USB Mass Storage support
- Wi-Fi RSSI fixed (signal strength icon in status bar)
- Video playback (youtube, mediaplayer) fixed
- Ofono 0.44
- ElectronBeam effect

Known issues:
- Market fix wouldn't work anymore
- su doesn't work (will be fixed in final version; you could use gingerbread_superuser.tar.bz2 as quick fix for this version)
- DHCP problems on Wi-FI connection. With buggy APs only.

In my own experience I have to say that there are less random reboots, internet over the cellular network doesnt work all the time(some times reboots needed until it work) and without overclock the performance is very good.

They are two seperate operating systems. It will take up storage memory but it won't take up resources such as RAM or CPU.

tl;dr No.
