is possible to install gstreamer or Mafw in OS2008?

GStreamer works on OS 2008. MAFW is N900-only. MAFW is the media framework on Maemo5. The OS 2008 equivalent is the OSSO media server.

Very odd.

If you check out from SVN on your device already, then just run

python MediaBox.py

from where you checked out. There's no need for a deb or tar.gz. :)

Re: MediaBox Media Center 0.96 with UPnP and more

I cracked it - the development environment doesn't have python2.5 installed properly, so I had to copy over everything from the standard /usr/lib/python2.5 into it, and for good measure I also installed python2.5-qt4. I then could build a proper .deb which works perfectly, no need for faffing with the source tarball any more :)

Thanks for the help pycage, and the great app.

PS I didn't check out on my device, but used TortoiseSVN and then copied the files over. For this reason I had to modify the make-deb.sh to include "_svn" as well as ".svn" because it's a Windows machine on which I develop with Visual Studio :) just didn't think it was worth mentioning.

pycage: about the problem with lrc files, i've found a "solution".

All the lyrics i was checking were like:
[m:ss.mmm]
[0:39.570]

I tried to edit to reduce precision :
[m:ss]
[0:39]

and

[m:ss.mm]
[0:39.57]

and these lines are working correctly, i tried with some songs and always was ok.

On the one hand this "pseudo-solution" is too bitter for end users like me, because i should write a script and modify all my lrc files on the other hand i think you could check you code to avoid this problem maybe reading only 1or 2 characters after the "." because i think this precision isn't necessary.

I would be pleased to help you in anything

Precision is half a second on MediaBox anyway. Some backends like MAFW only know about a precision of seconds, even.

Thanks for investigating this issue.

I have mediabox on my n810, but before I can do anything with it after I open it, it jujst closes, not even an error message. Did I set it up wrong?

Hello there.
It's written that there is support for headset buttons in Mediabox, but I cannot find it in modules. Actually for me there is no such a working feature, but is really needed. I got bluetooth stereo headset Nokia BH-505, where no buttons seems to be working.

I like the new version, and am still getting used to the feel, but what happened to the radio? I have an n800 and still listen to the radio on occasion. I really liked the one in Mediabox better than the Nokia one.

There is FM Radio Player in the repository for the N800. But you're right, the radio is missing in MediaBox right now. It will come back, though.
