Re: N9 owners: answer questions & get help!

Has anyone tried any ssh client with the N9? Is there a client available?
In such case, will X11 forwarding work (my strong suspicion is NO) ?

What keyboard alternatives are there? I hate touch keyboards to write with and that's main reason why I haven't bought an N9 yet.
Would it be possible to use a tiny BT keyboard?

when you install dev mode it installs openssh client and server..
i haven't really used the client side, but i have ssh-ed into my device a few times.

X11 forwarding... not sure.. sorry,
bluetooth keyboards, i would think they would, but I don't know for sure... maybe i'll try using bluemaemo as a keyboard on the n900 and see if it works on n9.

Any hope for an "adblock" plug in for the built in browser now that it is no longer Mozilla based?

Or should we just block the evil through a host file (how to get to that one?)

I am having troubles setting up the smtp settings for email. I had no issues on the N900. My ISP uses port 25 or 587. However when I try to send email away from home it gives me a error connecting to the smtp server. I have tried searching for solutions but I can't see any.
Any ideas?

Hi. I think there's something wrong with my battery. After full charge it always says stanby time of around 24hours and call time of around 5 hours. It seems that standby uses alot more power than it should. Would a phone reset help to fix it or shall i wait for PR1.1? Because at the moment it's not easy to make it last a full day.

if your connected to services online, push email etc. that will suck some battery. If you aren't online with things like skype/facebook then there might be a background process misbehaving. you can either kill it manually or a reset should fix it (i don't guarantee that though)

make sure you have the right type of secure connection selected (port 25 is normally for a non-secure connection). Also make sure your password is being sent correctly (either none, plain or encrypted), try encrypted first, if that fails try plain. these settings are in accounts>(your email account)>outgoing mail server
