I just went to the website and saw the 1032 USD price incl. shipping, which I converted and compared to the 667€ I paid some weeks ago for my pre-order.

However, checking on a different computer now, the price still shows as 649+18€. This means the 1032 USD I saw earlier today were probably just due to my other computer not being geolocalized. The price I saw was probably the initial price for non-EU customers, which seems to be 8% more than the price for EU customers. In any case, not related to the price after pre-orders; I'll edit my post about the 8%.

The interesting thing with the N900 is that its value seems to be rising. So you should be able to get approximately the same money for it if you sell it and want use that money to buy a Pro 1 (or something else). I still got a couple of almost brand new N900's in original box, waiting patiently for Leste or maybe they will be sacrificed to help me buy the next 'perfect´ phone :)

If i understand this right... If i live in Eu -area, price is still same? So much guesses, wondering and maybe misinformation read i have, today...

Edit:
That screen looks pretty easy to replace!!! Good new if accurate. Also look at how intricate all the parts are compared to slate phones, this probably adds to the cost of making more human have hands on.

it has been borderline for me as to whether or not I would throw coin at one.
My mistake.was the slew of different currencies used during discussion of it ...some figures not showing the currency it applied to ...but was inferred to in a past mention...that is where my confusion sprang from.
The mistaken (on my part) sharp increase ..just threw me..
Hence my reaction.

At the community events we where told that the keypad is a glued part for technical necessity.
Now seeing chens tear down photo linked above might suggest otherwise since all the parts are disassembled.
Only if you look closer at the white lower keypad part it is kind of bend after the tear down?

I was under the impression it is not user replaceable until i saw the tear down. Clarification would be awesome. Is it only replaceable if you match chens skills, which is highly unlikely and thus they better not advertise? :D

Don't know if the phone parts picture is taken from a disassembled phone, or a phone waiting for to get assembled... It's perhaps tiny difference, but if the picture has been taken before everything has been glued together, it obviously makes assembling a lot easier than disassembling :D

If you look at how bend the camera dust shield, white keypad part and antennas are, i think it was very carefully teared down.
Also the main point of the tweet is "Most part will be easily swappable via a screw driver".

This whole F(x)tec thingamajig is being one of the most frustrating events in my geeky life. It doesn't matter how hard I focus to contract time, or how often I refresh this TMO thread to help time fly, it seems time gets more and more dilated everyday. The closer we are from shipments, the longer the wait feels.

Sure, they are so stupid that they as neverheardof startup will try to sell phone for more than the price of note 10+ or almost any iPhone.
From what Chen wrote here yesterday I think that they don't know how much they will have to raise the price. Yet. But they do know that they will have to and yet, they are still giving a chance to everybody who wants to preorder to do that in the next 11 days. If that's not fair and assuring in their intentions to put pro1 in as much hand as possible at a lower price then I don't know what else they could to to please you.

Can’t understand the point of your posts, they got no constructive criticism, only complaints about pricing. If the price is too high for you, don’t buy it. Keep in mind that this phone is from small startup company, there will be issues, shortcomings and things you won’t like. Small company can’t provide you same level of service as a big business, simply because there’s not enough hands to handle some of the stuff.

He also show it with terminal being used, both vertical with softkb

I would regard and handle this as a company secret, as Jolla does with the number of sold SailfishOS licenses ("SailfishX") and the number of active devices accessing the Jolla Store.

Any published number will generate more critical comments:
- Oh, so few! Is this project really feasible, then?
- Oh, so many. But why am I not among the first batch, then!

And while the first batch comprises a specific number of assembled devices, things can go wrong as it is the first mass production run, so F(x)tec may receive far less working devices.
Hence even they do not know how many "first batch" devices will be available.

Why does this number appear to be relevant for you?
