if it will be separated gui package will be dependable from main package, and main will be moved to non-user repository so apt-get will make all work for you
anyway i still wait "Pending maintainer request" and have no rights to upload psx4m to repository

ok, as i say before i publish psx4m-gui in repository
also i update psx4m to 0.4.3-1 version
savestate should work if directory /opt/usr/psx4m/ is present(but it doesn't work to me, maybe smoku have bad experience with save\load too, because i just enable it)
new keys also present(diagonals)
Abe's Oddysee Fix can be enabled too

In extra-devel, search "psx4m-gui".

With the new update, the "configure keys" not work!

James_Littler: tap options, select directory(last entry)
Airtux: make sure that file /home/opt/psx4m/keys have exactly 21 lines with numbers before start gui

also there is no folder called /home/opt/psx4m for me when i look for it in explorer

nevermind, i finally got it to work! hehe! can't wait to play FF 7, 8, and 9 on it! one question though, can i remap the keys? what is the default configuration of the keys by the way? also, do i need to type something in xterminal just to save or does it save automatically?

also, my version is 0.4.2 i heard the 0.4.3 version is buggy? what are the bugs in it? should i upgrade to it even though it's buggy?

firstly i do not sure about save and load options work
0.4.3 version have this changes: reading keys from file, enabling abbey odissey fix from console argument, 4 new keys for diagonals, 2 keys for save and load(doesn't tested)
so it shouldn't buggy at all(i hope)

Fredook: update gui first, if it's not helped wait new version...
and check permission of key file (/home/opt/psx4m/keys) it should be owned by user and be rw

also, what's gui? I'm launching psx4m from xterm, is that different?

u should make keys file (21 lines with keycodes, u can use gui to setup it and after use cli as before)

can it play plastation 1 games???if it is then plz tell me what kind image i will have to make to run in this software from ps1 cd's??? does it play iso? or .bin

one more thing plz tell me how to convert image from ps1 cd???what software do you use for it ?it should be free also.....

I have installed the GUI and I have the same problem as Fredook. When I start the psx4m it shows a msg about "setup your keys", but then that screen pops out. Even if I enter setup menu again it doesn't help.
Updating the GUI doesn't help. Guess we have to wait for the new version...

how do i do this? i updated, and now any keys i press, it won't work. as if no keys are mapped in the keyboard. what gives? :confused:

all who have throubles with keymaping gui create /home/opt/psx4m/keys file with 21 lines with zeros(one zero per line), set chown user, chmod 777 and after that try gui mapping
or wait new gui version...

great work on the emu took me 5mins to figure out why chmod 777 wasnt working on the key file but had the command and path to file the wrong way round lol,
realy pleased with the diagnol controls but a quick question in the keymapper it gives you an option for R2 twice was wondering if this was a typo or actually two R2s mapped havent tried it out yet im at work and also i found that all other keys not mapped were mapped to left arrow which amused me lol keep up the grat work love it
