I have the cssu-thumb repo and the cssu-testing repos enabled and I do see an update available, but I get numerous missing package errors when trying to update it. I have attached screenshots of the errors. Apologies for (a) potentially posting in the wrong thread - not sure if this is a cssu-thumb issue, a cssu issue or just a general package management issue, and (b) attaching as screenshots - I couldn't find out how to copy the text from the dialogs. Thank you for any assistance. |

Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900
Ok, first enable CSSU repos, then in terminal try with root apt-get update, than apt-get upgrade, and than apt-get install -f

Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900
I've just tried as you suggest, but I do get warnings so I thought I better check before proceeding.
apt-get update looks to work, but warns: Quote:
I tried to proceed to apt-get upgrade anyway, but it warns: Quote:
Just to clarify, I have the cssu-testing and css-thumb repos enabled. Thanks again. |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900
Just disable CSSU-testing and keep CSSU-stable enabled, than try again if you afraid
and apt-get update warns are normal |

Mods: I really wish there was some info about this printed in big friendly letters on the front page. I get tired of repeating the same thing over and over again. Can something be done about it? |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900
Thanks very much, running apt-get update and upgrade solved this.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900
Thanks to CSSU team and freemangordon for Thumb packages.
Updated to Tmaemo9.1, so far so good. |

Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900
Question (apologies in advance if it's stupid):
When being on Thumb, I should ignore the "plain" Testing updates, yes? For a long time now HAM has wanted me to update from 21.2011.38-1Tmaemo9+thumb1 to 21.2011.38-1Tmaemo9.1. Would I be reverting to CSSU Testing if I installed this? |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900
@bocephus,
That depends on whether you want "bleeding edge" or "slightly older but more efficient". SCCU-Thumb is based on CSSU-Testing and is (usually) one step behind. That means that you can have packages in Testing that are more up-to-date than their Thumb equivalent. I would say, unless you absolutely need the update for some reason (the recent A-GPS certificate update comes to mind), then wait until freemangordon catches up and updates Thumb with the Testing updates. Of course, the final decision is yours. |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900
Hi guys , i flashed me n900 and now i'm unable to install thumb , i installed the latest testing but not thumb flavour
|
Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900
If you are on cssu-testing now, there is no way possible to get thumb right now, because the version number of testing is higher.
You should have installed cssu-thumb on the command line with the exact version number Code:
sudo gainroot |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900
New update (21.2011.38-1Tmaemo9.1+thumb0) is in the repo, sorry for the delay

Code:
sudo gainroot BUT: With freemangordon coming to the rescue and providing new CSSU-thumb version, it should be possible for you to upgrade your testing install to thumb now. Code:
sudo gainroot |

How to remove the battery icon from the clock area after installing thumb?
Otherwise working well with no problems. |

Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900
Advanced Power replaces tatus-area-applet-battery's icon with its own. To get rid of the icon completely you would need to uninstall both. Then you would be without any battery level indication. That's what puzzled me.
|
Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900
Currently, he have *two* icons - one for APM, and one for status-area-battery-applet. At least it is how IUI, and what was reported by APM users, IIRC.
Not that keeping APM does have any sense, as it become obsolete with introduction of new applet FOSS replacement - it does the same thing, just better - but, it's free world, so... /Estel |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900
I never had a case of TWO icons when (un)installing APM. I did have a case of NO icon until the next reboot though. Perhaps a reboot might fix two icons as well?
|
Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900
I had the two icons as well and to fix it I just uninstalled the adv power applet and then I reboot

Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900
Is calendar-l10n-mr0 / calendar-l10n-engb closed source, or can it be transferred (and recompiled) to the thumb repo? Some calendar files are already here.
I had troubles with the calendar some weeks ago, and after many failed attempts, I wanted to do a clean remove and a new install. Bad idea, as the packages aren't available for download. With the thumb repo I got some more packages back, but the two mentioned are still missing for a complete install of the clock-ui package, which is a dependency of the mp-fremantle-community-pr. If not, I might need to do a full reset, as calendar is of course not working at the moment :o |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900
I finally managed to thumb-compile glibc6, but before putting it in the repo, I would like some brave souls to install on their devices and test a bit (I have it installed on my dayly device and see no problems, but still... ).
debs are on http://dox.bg/files/dw?a=81e9be297d -dbg package is provided in case someone needs it :) |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900
@Bzzz,
Enable Nokia repositories. Calendar is a funny beast, it is the only Nokia package I found with sensible language dependencies. Everything else depends on pretty much everything other but Calendar allows you to remove all l10n packages except the one you need. This is my case: Code:
Bianca:~# dpkg -l | grep calendar I installed your libc6 and it worked fine for the short time I'd tested it but I ended up with unmet dependencies for libc6-dev and, through it, a few dozen other packages. So I had to move it back: Code:
Bianca:~# apt-get -f install |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900
@pichlo - I will upload -dev package too, but I wonder why the hell you need that on the device - there is scratchbox for that purpose :)
EDIT: uploaded |
