This kernel version 2.6.28-omap1 is not supported, please make sure kernel power is installed and running. Tried the reinstall command it gives, but it fails, have tried deinstalling the kernel and reinstalling but still doesnt work :( Anyone else had this problem and solved it? |

Sort of. Had this problem when I installed Nitdroid. Nitdroid installer is seriously buggy so I deinstalled and went back. Had to remove Nitdroid and everything else Nitdroid installer installed. Then reinstalled Power Kernel and rebooted. Took a few reboots then it sorted itself out. |

So to recap: Headphones/Speakers plugged in = Static pop on built-in speakers and playing of IM/Chat alerts and sounds on built-in speakers. No phones, just using built-in speakers = No static pop. Using FM transmitter = no static pop, chat/IM sounds play through radio as expected. However, even in the situations where there is no static and it opreates as expected it still isn't as smooth as it was when using the stock kernel. Kernel is version 2.6.28meamo40 Happens at stock speeds and with speeds set to 125/600, 250/600, 500/600, and 550/750. Using ULV profile. Have not yet tested on the LV profile. |

Not had that....I'm running at 1ghz on ideal. Maybe you should switch? |

Re: Overclock the N900?
Hi just picked up a n900 was following a guide to overclock and install a custom kernel but when i select Enhanced linux kernel for power users (settings) from application manager it says there is conflicts with applications packages:
Kernel-modules-meamo kernel-maemo Kernel-modules-meamo kernel-maemo Anyone know how to fix this I've looked all over but can't seem to find the answer |
Re: Overclock the N900?
got i to work by updating in xterm and did apt-get install kernel-power-settings.

Re: Overclock the N900?
I've switched my phone over to the LV profile with limits set to 125/900 (since according to kernel-config show this puts the DSP at 500 vs 430), and now i don't appear to be getting the static when testing with headphones (vs the speakers i have at work), but now it is playing the alert sound through both the headphones and through the external speakers. I don't mind this since it ensures you hear it if you have your ear buds out as well as if you have them in.
But it's interesting behavior that i thought you might want to look into. My guess is that it has to do with the DSP speeds. |

If I close all apps, let the device rest, and have a look at Conky, the device idles at 250MHz with about 3-5% load on the CPU and all 8-10 secs it upscales to 1000MHz for 2-4 secs with CPU load still around 4% and then back to 250MHz. I dont have any special background daemons, watchdogs or services running. All apps closed. Where does that jumpy behavior come from?! Conkys graph also is completely level, no peaks or exceptional stress, just upscale to 1GHz and back again.... Any ideas? |
Re: Overclock the N900?
I think i found a bug...
I am using kernel power and setting 37 version When i set the custom voltage profile Min freq 125 and Max 256. While using it i see cpu frequency going upto 500 everytime and keep jumping from 125 to 500. Otherwise if i fix other frequencies it follows the command properly. Any suggestion how to avoid 500 I am checking the minimum voltage tolerable. Another question If i decrease Zero frequency voltage how it is gonna affect the system. It is also confusing because Titan ideal profile does not have zero frequency supported and so no idea about its voltage |
