Yesterday it was too late and i am right now coping backup to the phone be right back in about 10 minuts :)

EDIT: Like i said it was a lie! Sailfish OS is version 2.0.4.13 which is based on CM12.1.


I am gonna swich to postmarketos for a while. They need testers for nexus 5. It's much more apealing for me also, because it's trying to have 10 year support for smartphone and it runs Linux kernel 5.1 on nexus 5 :) I tried it once and kde plasma works, it's laggy but works. xfce did not work i3wm did not work so i am going to give them feedback so they can fix it, i'll also look at it if i can get it working myself. Now THAT is real linux. It does not need anything from android you just flash postmarket os and you have latest kernel. I think anbox will work there because of kernel version. It's also much lighter then sailfish and it's real linux based on alphine linux.

That's why i couldn't get it working...

Nice to have another alternative for the Nexus...i will give it a try!

It's not alternative yet. Call sms do not work and many interfaces too. Kde works. XFCE4 boots after 10 minute idle state tried just now but touchscreen does not work. Yet 4.17/4.18 kernel boots. I wrote wrong information kernel 5.1 boots on my galaxy nexus not nexus 5. On nexus 5 postmarket os uses 4.17/4.18 kernel version. Still much better then stock 3.4

Hey team,

why don't we focused on sailfish OS. As far I understand SFOS is one of the best OS for daily use/drive for Nexus 5. If someone will take some effort to port alien dalvik on SFOS 3.0, I don't think people on this forum will go back to Android.

I really appreciate your efforts toward other OS and I respect your hard work as well guys. I am not asking you to change your mind and focus on SFOS completely, I just want to say, let's give a try to "SFOS" one more time and make it more usable for a daily drive with the power of Sailfish+Android=SailDroid.
