hmm, just called nokia UK and the new release date they have been given is the 19th of November.

seems logical as the meetup is on the 17th, so 2 days later the phone starts shipping.

Damn, i've never really waited so eagerly for a phone.

Just checked with Mobile Phones Direct again and they are still stating the 16th Nov for dispatch...I know that's what they always said but I just wanted to prod them to see if they had any updated info, thought they might have got them earlier :(

Then 19th is the begining of another Royal Mail strike (yes I know they said they wouldn't but they don't keep their word on anything so why this).

End Result: UK shipments arrive same time as result of the world, just in time to preorder the Maemo 6 device! :)

the speed to pass to 1000 to 2000 was many thime faster than to 0 to 1000. So imagine passing from 2000-3000 it will be increadable since there more and more people that want their N900 very badly. They can't sleep, work just waiting to get the adrenaline of unpacking this N900

Shouldn't we have the phone first before going to meetup?
Funny turning up to meetup without anything in hand...

not really, if you have seen the youtube videos from previous meetups, they like to showcase the phone.

if you already have the phone there is no point going to the meetup as firstly you know what it feels like in the hand and secondly you have already played with it.

YES- WHY INDEED? Maybe the 'girl' part of Ninjaboxergirl didn't give that away?

Anyway- I just asked MPD when they were expecting to 'recieve stock of the N900' and actually I thought for a while they were totally ignoring me but then I got 'around 16th'.
this is not good- they were definate about sending out on the 17th last week. Boo hooooo:(

All the other meetups have been held before the phone release so doubt this one will be any different.

Still no press release either...

I want my bl***y phone, another day of WM6.5 will drive me mad, when will my nightmare end..

MPD are still saying next week so I have days left yet, but will be better once other people have theirs as I know then that it is really happening..

didn't he swear up and down that the store claim they have it and they are shipping it on Monday... Well i will still give him another 4hrs which will be 12pm USA time to see if he is still getting it :) :)

I have always suspected that the USA will get it first :) like Bob Marley said only time will tell :D

What ever happened to the assurance our UK colleagues got from Nokia UK that the N900 would be shipping today? I mean all the 2 more sleep 3 more sleep. Whatever happened to that.

Nokia UK are a disgrace telling everyone who cared to ring them it will be shipped the 9th, the 9th comes and people are reporting they are now saying the 19th, it makes me think they have been stringing us along to stop us cancelling and ordering a rival device, they must of known Friday when I called that it would not be released today but they still said the 9th to me
