Ok, might not attract any world media at this state. To bad it wasn't a free event. I could have booked a flight and tried to create my first live blog or live stream with my bad English. Would have been a classic. Let's hope Jolla have some employees who knows how to spreed the word.

I'm quite sure they will walk people to see what they got to show, there will be a live stream or at least a video being recorded to be published later

Yes, words comes out. I want to see who is saying it and how he saying it. Blogs and reporters are not that fun. I want pure jolla words. Let's hope for a video release later.

I'm sure he will be included in the Jolla release. They have already created trailer.

Actually if you look at Jolla's LinkedIn page under the Company Updates they have posted the most important updates.

There is not many but you can't complain it's not there

The only simularity i could find is that the last guy in this video has stolen dimitri's haircut. :D

I have to admit i don't really understand what the video is all about.

I think jolla mobile could change demitri to a n9 or n900 and the video should still make sense and the could use it as an offical trailer :D

Thank goodness Jolla didn't do something stupid as this...No website is better than a fail website...

It looks like some kids designed Adaia's site as their assignment...Are they that broke :p

I can only recommend watching http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CX133N1AImc (5 parts). Really worth a watch. (Kind of off topic, but a good documentary anyway)

Here is a simple translation of the main things:

So basically they are making extra durable smartphones for extreme conditions (cold, shaking, ..).

The company is formed by Heikki Sarajärvi, Rob McGarry, Jan Wellmann and Ismo Karali.

On their website they tell that Adaia was formed after they got fed up with carrying smart phones inside some rubber cases etc.. and still getting broke. They tell that their phone should sustain hard impacts and work 10 meter under water. The phone also should pass MIL STD 810G -standard.

On the website the formers tell that the phone would work outside the cellular ranges. (Using satellite connections)

They will be using android.

They have been working with BMW DesignWorksUSA (design) and Finnish elektrobit (hardware)

They haven't published the schedules when they will be introducing their phones nor when they are going to start selling them.

They got 2 offices, one in Helsinki and another in Vancouver.

sorry for my bad English :o

Working 10 meter under water? That amazing, Jussi should contact them and create a real tank phone with sailxish. I want a mobile phone that can dive with me when at the beach. Photo under water, SMS under water is a use case all human beings need. Is that working?

" ADAIA’s team, mindset, and vision is about facilitating adventure with high-end communication solutions that work anywhere on the planet, under any circumstances, with absolute reliability and quality.

The first smartphone will feature military standard ruggedness, total reach (with satellite and terrestrial reach), premium + design, and innovative security features.

The team is based out of Helsinki, Vancouver, Los Angeles, and London."

Is this more amazing than jolla? We will see...

So how is Adaia relevant to Jolla / Mer?

Its probably not but that wasn't known before, but since they pop up from nowhere and had headquarters in helsinki/have connection to old Nokias and hw manufacturer they could have been working close with Jolla and sailfish. You don't see that context?

But there is still a small chance they are working with Jolla even if it's uber slim;)

According to http://mobiili.fi/2012/10/22/suomala...lliittiyhteys/ they will be using Android:

"Adaian puhelimen käyttöjärjestelmänä pitäisi pyöriä Android-käyttöjärjestelmä." == "The operating system of Adaia phones should be Android"

At a quick look, I didn't find the article source, so no idea where the writer got that piece of information.

I wouldn't call Dave a troll, He's just clearly very existed about Jolla's next phone :D

I'm also excited and looking forward to what Jolla is going to show, but I'm not as good at displaying it as Dave is!

Another interesting bit in the article is that the company has been founded in April 2011, so they started just about the same time as Jolla.

It just means that they started company after Elopcalypse. Tons of ex-Nokians are building their own busineses that they started around that time.

Adaia is making 'tough' Android phones for rough use.

They want it to work anywhere on the planet, cool. Just what I need!

They want it to run android.

What use is an indestructible phone if it has run out of battery?

the same reason the millitary using tanks, presidents using armored limousine, earthquake prone building and panic rooms. To limit the risk of...failure. Nothing is 100% under some conditions.

The concept for Jolla 1st came up round then, but work in earnest didn't start till Sept/Oct 2011.

I trust Stskeeps judgement on this...If he posts that video which shows some of them at least in a bad light, i don't think Jolla have any links to them...

It could be they have deliberately come out of their cave now to grab some publicity especially with Jolla being on an upward curve right now in terms of PR...

I wouldn't go as far as to say that, but it's an interesting detail about that particular news.

That said, there's definately a lot of startups that would benefit from the whole Sailfish story. It makes their ramp-up time a hell lot easier.

Yes, but the show must go on. I will survive :D

But would be fun if Stskeeps said B sometimes, it's boring when bringing A to the table without example of B. He can keep C for himself/Mer/jolla.

iNot sure how serious this acl+jolla thing is, but i got this response from open Mobile.

Hi Dave,

Thank you so much for your email.

We are working diligently to deliver ACL across multiple mobile platforms.Unfortunately I do not have specific release dates at the moment, but I will reach out to you as soon as I have further information.

Thank you again for taking the time to email OpenMobile. We are hoping to have an announcement in the very near future about a downloadable version of ACL - dates, timing, pricing, versions, support, etc.

Please be kind enough to stay tuned for more information as soon as I am able to release it.**
