Re: Overclock the N900?
oh no .... no...
*#)-)7/"'+&!€/ i was thinking if i mistakenly bought a N1000!! :p my n900 feels like under the "haste" spell ... oh yes, the fheroes folks are now really galloping on the map just as what the settings should be. didn't expect so much fun as originally i bought it just out of "practial" needs. kudos to jakiman's notes. it's crystal clear to me. :D will keep playing in this state and see if any situation comes up. by the way i have one question: is it safe to keep it running with this setting without underclocking? EDIT i was so excited that i forgot some important info. Comparison of nbench scores ======================= 1. Re: Overclock the N900?
Day 2 (xlv, single frequency@1000)
Browsed the web for 2 hours, played fheroes (w/ CD music) for another 2 hours, installed and uninstalled several packages and fiddling with things for 1 hour, then left on with wlan connection, after 6 hours i turned on the screen and the battery had ~60% left. Not bad to me. Also no obvious heat or warming on the battery. Will keep playing and reporting back. |

Re: Overclock the N900?
Have been running 1150mhz for a month now. The battery life is incredible (lasts maybe 2 hours under use).

Re: Overclock the N900?
Crashdamage: Why do you keep repeating this and ignore corrections?
The fact is, if you have a problem and your phone reboots, it will NOT load the custom configuration. Did you ever do that -- I have a feeling that you have your system set up so well that you don't see what happens when a problem occurs. Well, I have seen it more than once: When a problem occurs, you get a message saying your custom configuration has not been loaded because of the problem. So your scenario about constantly rebooting doesn't happen. Please explain how I am wrong if I'm wrong. But I don't think I am. |

Titans kernel is set up so that in the event of an unexpected reboot the default 125-600 is loaded. Wise up and stop perpetuating misinformation! |
Re: Overclock the N900?
i have my custom settings set as default as well and to make it short, the settings has avoid freqs like 125, 250, 550, 750, 850, 950, 1100 and 1150. i also have qbw to set the stock settings on boot and my favorite qbw, the CPU freq points (which shows numbers how long the cpu runs on a supported freq).
so lets get to my query [noticed this last month] -as i set my custom profile at boot, and then reboot the device, everything is going smooth......but when my qbw widgets' done loading, my CPU freq points widget shows 250mhz and 550mhz little points like 30 to 45. but yes they are set up as avoid freqs.... anyone has the idea? thanks NOTE: nothing is wrong on this post.....everything is fine.....im just asking >_< |
Re: Overclock the N900?
phew. I have just deinstalled kernel-power and am going to reinstall it and overclock with no default. Ideally i want to have 3 to hprofiles: stock, 250/850 and 1000/1000.
Queen Beecon looks rather complicated but i will do my study. Thanks for the heads-up. |
