Savy chinese dealers trying to cash in on the unexpected demand from desperate laowais? :D

Not surprising. I suggest the Jolla Tablet be renamed

JTab Limited Edition

I'm delighted to say I've received the tablet today.

It's currently downloading 1.1.19.30 (came with 1.1.19.13 and over 80% charge). A tip for others who are awaiting a tablet: don't select any apps in the setup phase, as they all failed to install for me taking about half an hour in total, and delaying the download of the updates.

Edit:
Update to 1.1.19.30 complete
Update to 2.0.1.7 complete (latest) and I've installed apps from the Jolla store and Warehouse from here.

Thanks for the tip! If all goes well, mine should arrive early next week. Please keep folks posted on anything interesting or helpful you find.

Any chance that the factory create more black market jPads?

Well, according to Jolla some of the components are not available anymore, so no.

Available to Jolla, yes. But the factory sold tablets so maybe they sold the parts for the rest of the tablets too. After all Jolla should have secured parts for all tablets if they at some point intended to deliver all.

Probably the same thing Jolla phone users do when they need a new battery: try to find an equivalent from another manufacturer, take a chance with a Chinese counterfeit or recycled part, cannibalize another phone, hunt down some NOS, or try to sell it without battery. :(

Or maybe "not available" just means that suppliers now only fill Jolla's orders when paid in advance. Kinda sucks to not get net terms cause one's credit's shot . . .
