Sure you're not jumping to conclusions?

if they're using intel wimax chips, what are the chances that they might moving away from the ARM stuff in the future?

One has nothing to do with the other.

maybe not technically, but business-wise. If Nokia likes their relationship with Intel...

I guess that's too much speculation though.

Today's Seattle Times has a front page photo of presumably the Nokia WiMax model with an exclusive front page story in their Business section, also with the photo of the Nokia (among other WiMax models). http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/htm...2_wimax27.html

I see the Samsung P9000, a Samsung modem and the regular N800 in your article.

The photo of the Nokia on page two of the Business section has indeed the label on it of N800 but the screen has different icons, with an enlarged keyboard and a sample message saying "Hi Sun! Nice to see you on-line again!"

It's the thumbboard that you're seeing. And that text tells me that they used the same promo photo of the N800 that they've been using since before the N800 launched.

...and although other manufacturers have actually been showing off WiMax equipment - Nokia were only mentioned as someone who will be providing equipment in the future. I think it's therefore fair to say that whatever the FCC tested, it's not a WiMax version (especially as the deal with Intel was done after the FCC tested the device).

This at least means that after this device comes out, we'll still have the WiMax device to start rumours about when it will be available, and for Texrat to either join in, or go strangely quiet about... ;)
