Re: Video Center Updated Today

It's for increasing the cache of mplayer. Add -cache 1024 at the end of the mplayer command line used for External Player in Video Center.

Re: Video Center Updated Today

On a related note, I'm using it with mplayer currently (-cache 1024 %s) and it works fine for video. However I have a couple *audio* podcast feeds I've added to Video Center (yeah I know, it's Video Center :) ) and that brings up mplayer completely in the background without any way to stop it other then killing the PID. (ie. no window or icon on the left dock)

Is there a better way to call mplayer for audio stream where it will least create a window? That's the only reason I can't stick with mplayer all time.

Applied to mplayer... and it still does not work as it did in the previous version of Video Center. Last version of VC produced a really smooth stream when selecting a strem title, then in the menu "View" selecting "Stream...".

Oh well...

Greetings:

Have all these elements upgraded:

mplayer 1.0rc1-maemo.18.n770
vc-epg-widget 0.0.33
videocenter 2.0.41
videocenter-ci-plugins-base 0.0.16
videocenter-plugins 2.0.15

Even After a Reboot, VideoCenter does not load.

Can I open Xterm and then open VideoCenter to see what is wrong.

I don't know how to work Xterm.
Can someone tell me what string line I should write.

Regards Robert

Robert, I had the exact same problem. My particular problem was I had an entirely full 2GB SD card (full of Maemo Mapper maps) in the external slot. While I had that card in, VideoCenter would not start up. If I remove the card or replace it with a SD card with some free space it starts up and runs fine. I am currently running:

mplayer 1.0rc1-maemo.18.n800
vc-epg-widget 0.0.40
videocenter 2.0.41
videocenter-ci-plugins-base 0.0.25
videocenter-plugins 2.0.24

Hope this helps.

Well, Robert is using a 770, the problem may be more than that. I think VC update killed my MMC bootup, http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...9859#post79859, and both the file manager and VC wont load. I tried all other tricks, removing the VC folder etc, does not work. and my MMC read 1.37 GB from a PC, read only 850 MB by the 770, i.e. some missing space or corrupted space. I cried and cried, and my tears were dried then, I repartition the whole MMC and everything is back to normal. I tried reformat the Fat32 at first, do no squat, still cannot load VC and file manager.

I hope Robert will have a lesser problem like I do. I would first check the MMC card see whether there is a discrepancy like me, if there is, you probably have to bite the bullet, repartition. Sorry, I think the update messed up some dl video files and cannot be repaired. Another error message is before the 770 MMC boot mess up, it sent a creepy error message, only once though, "memory card is available". I have never seen that message before, and the next thing, VC hanged, and the next thing, MMC in a forever bootup loop. I wonder if anyone see the message "memory card available" before and what does it mean and what trigger that message? I also think, if one remove the MMC while the MMC is in operation will trigger that message.

On my N800 I see the "memory card is available" all the time. Everytime I replace either the internal or external SD card it displays this message; but it won't display the message until the door is closed, triggering the switch to indicate the card is now in. Like any drive on any computer, there is a chance for corruption if the drive is removed from the system if it is currently being used (actively being written to). Opening the door(s), at least on the N800, indicates to the system that the drive is offline (removed) even though you have not physically removed it. I would think the N770 works the same way, but I cannot verify that because I don't own one.

Thanks for the info. I thought so when the message showed, that the drive door may be "sensed" as open somehow by the 770 (the drive door is very flimsy in the 770), and then corrupted the file. Interesting you see that message all the time. On a 770, that is the first time and only time I have seen that message. Oh, well, everything is back to normal, except I lost 6 hrs of my life to re-install all my apps.

Re: Video Center Updated Today

Video center messed up again.

Video center was working very well after the fresh re-installation as discussed in earlier posts, I was able to easily switch on/off/different shows, upon streaming. that went on for several hours. Then I want to watch another show, streaming, and it hanged, for awhile, so I take out the battery, and reboot, now there is NO MORE shows. All the internet videos icon still shows, but the bracket showed (0 unwatch videos), all of them. They were showing lots of unwatched videos before, now they all zero.
How can I swithc it back? Any suggestions? Refreshing does not help, still no show. I am getting way too frustrating with this video center. I know it is cool and I enjoyed it, but way too buggy.........or maybe its me:(

You should still be able to play the videos. Sounds like they were just marked as read.
