Re: Mitter: A Twitter Client
I'm using the Maemo Diablo release.
I downloaded mitter 0.30 from here Here is the installation process I followed: 1. Enabled 'Red Pill' mode in App manager. 2. Installed 'Python2.5' from repos, 'Python2.5-hildon' from repos & 'Python-simplejson-0.0.1-1_all' from here via App manager. 3. Then Installed mitter 0.30 in App manager. I am able to open the GUI, and configure my twitter username & password - but the tweets do not display in the window. If I try and launch mitter from the command line I get the following errors: Code:
Nokia-N800-23-14:/home/user# mitter --interface=tty |
Re: Mitter: A Twitter Client
Are you getting any sort of authentication error after entering your username and password and pressing OK?
if so, you will have to type the first letter of your password twice and delete the first one. |
Re: Mitter: A Twitter Client
I posted this on the other thread.

Re: Mitter: A Twitter Client
Thanks antikx & brontide. After seeing your posts I fired up mitter again, and it just worked! I did not change anything, so my best guess is that twitter API was down (again) at the time I was doing my inital tests.

Re: Mitter: A Twitter Client
Now that mitter is able to connect to twitter and pull down my friends updates I have noticed one small issue:
When I close the main mitter window, then tap on the 'm' logo in the status area it does not correctly bring mitter to the foregound - all that happens is that the OS2008 status area icons and left bar icons disapper. I then have to press the 'home' hardware key, then select 'mitter' to bring it to the foreground. Any ideas? (BTW - It does not have the same problem if I minimize the mitter main window) |
Re: Mitter: A Twitter Client
no ideas except i have seen it happen with pidgin as well, as far back as chinook...

Re: Mitter: A Twitter Client
If I can't get a Jaiku invite, Mauku is only 1/2 usable by me...

Re: Mitter: A Twitter Client
that may be, but i would say it makes for a very nice twitter client nonetheless ;)
