Re: Diablo & N800 camera question

I've tried all the above fixes & the flip is still broken on my N800 when using camera and internet phone call apps.

Strangely enough, the "Knips" camera program still flips just fine.

Edited later on.....(7pm CST)

Somehow, it got fixed... I was installing/uninstalling stuff....

Flip on the camera still wasn't working. (For anything but the "Knips" camera program)

Then I installed Skype.

I started the Skype application. Then I popped out the camera for the heck of it. All of a sudden, the internet call started up & flip was working!!!!

Back to the drawing board... It was working for several days. I've been messing around with things and it isn't flipping again. Nothing is helping, maybe it will just magically start working correctly again.

Knips continues to implement the flip functionality correctly.

Edited later on.... (10:40am CST)
I uninstalled camera, and did the take out the battery thing and flip/open camera functionality is working again.

@snakomatix

i've been struggling with this problem for a long time but i haven't found an easy solution. basically i just restart the tablet and hope that the flip functions again.

strangely knips retains the flip function, however i find the program slow and buggy. it frequently crashes my tablet. is it the same case as yours?

Any updates or solution to this problem? I tried the battery out trick but it didn't solve my problem. Is there anything else that I can try to test if mine is a hardware issue or Diablo problem?
Thanks

Open the camera app first and next slide out the camera. It works for me.

no sir, that won't work in most cases. so far the solution with the highest success rate is taking out the battery for a few minutes.

if you really want to know if it's a hardware problem, install KNIPS. in my experience it's the only camera app that correctly flips the image. too bad it's laggy.

also try to reinstalling videocamera and rebooting.

.

Well, checked 1 minute ago. It really really works for me. See the results. Question: are we talking the same problem? Using the same repositories?

Taking out batteries seems a magical solution. Maybe some bad spirits ?

As always: have fun.

Re: Diablo & N800 camera question

My "work a round" to this camera problem in Diablo is this:
Install "Configuration Editor".
Run that utility.
Select "system"
Select "osso"
Select "af"
Check the box at the top that says "camera-has-turned'
Now when camera is turned out picture is not upside down.
However, if flipped toward you, it is.

Is there a way to fix this, or is it a bug.

When I uninstalled Camera app, Diablo would boot the chat program when I popped out the camera, again, and the picture would flip again.

I installed Knips instead of Camera and it all works again.

Something in Camera trashes Diablo's N800 camera support....
