You need to type "sudo su -" (note the spaces).

Are you using the IP address (WINS/NetBios addresses won't work)?
Could you try temporarily disabling your firewall?
Make sure you are connecting to VNC display 0. (The address should be <IP of server>:0)

I just saw your post right now,
I have disabled my firewall, and I'm using WIFI thru a linksys router.
Ip adress is a local ip(192.168.2.100)
I have no idea about the VNC display 0??

EXXELENT!!!
I have now connected to VNC
I don't know how that happened but I got connected :)

wait a minute
it was the firewall

Scaling supported?

Hi,

I installed 0.3.2-i and works fine.

For me server side scaling would be important. This feature is supported for examply by UltraVNC. I already can control my MediaCenter PC using vnc. but it would be much easier if I could scale my desktop area 1280x768 to Nokias 800x480.

Can someone further develop 0.3.2-i to make it support scaling? Or is the only way to port for example UltraVNC viewer for Nokia 770?

Or does someone know if there is some other vnc software for Nokia 770 that supports scaling? Available or under development?

I unfortunately lack the technological skills to do it myself...

Does anyone else have a problem with the VNC pretending to load, then disappearing? After every reboot, it loads exactly once. Then when I try to go into VNC Viewer it says "Loading VNC Viewer" for about 30 seconds then disappears.

no problems here

It loads consistently, it did hang my 770 when the firewall was turned on, on the windows XP box I was connecting to. I had to ssh to kill vnc and then everything was good again.

As documented:

"NOTE: Users should close application from the bottom toolbar as closing from the main window causes problems re-launching."

Also, closing from the drop down menu works as an alternative. I am still trying to figure out the problem with closing from the main window, so stay tuned.
