I'm still enjoying the show and looking forward to my Pandora. I also wonder which one will ship earlier to their respective owners - Beagleboard rev C, RX-51 or Pandora :-) |

As for failed expectations well, that's more about underestimating all risks of your investment. You can't blame anyone else for that. Well you obviously can but ... |

Re: The Pandora Cluster Bleep
Its really not a timing issue that has left a bad taste in my mouth.
Pandora had sent me several emails with useless information. Then when I ask questions I am told to go read forum entries. I lost 73$ on the exchange rate, but I too blame pandora for this. If they had not refunded my money I would have a pandora on its way eventually. My main problem is I have no way I feel comfortable reordering. I don't have a checking account, I don't use checks. I will NOT pay by Bank Transfer, Money Order or Cashiers Check. Why because I have no faith that I will ever get anything, and I would have no recourse to ever get my money back. If they **** me on my credit card, I can get my money back. If they still had my money I would be sitting here quietly, but they gave it back, now they want it again, but I cannot pay the way I did when I ordered it. I might as well send some cash in an envelope to Nigeria, as far as I am concerned. This is TOTALLY PANDORA teams fault. This should have all be figured out prior to taking any money in the first place. My guess is if the only way to order was by Bank Transfer to begin with, they NEVER would have even sold the 3000 units. Their communication is nonexistent. They have all our email addresses. I did not get something telling me to reorder, I found a webpage that says I have 7 days to order. WTF ITS ALL A REALLY BAD JOKE. |
Re: The Pandora Cluster Bleep
Yeah I can't believe they can't figure out a way to accept credit card payments. The purchasers need some kind of recourse if things go horribly wrong, as they might. Is there no way the Pandora team can work with a reputable outfit who can handle the pre-order payments? The whole money order business is just too fly-by-night. I strongly suspect they're going to have serious problems getting enough orders now. The whole project is still in jeopardy of complete collapse...

I would be surprised if they have the first batch on the streets in 3 months at the pace things are going. Either way I suppose this is a bonus for me, as I can wait another 3 months and be that much closer to the new Nokia release date ;) Like the Beastie Boys say, Get it Together! |
Re: The Pandora Cluster Bleep
blame the credit crunch. basically, anyone is risk shy to the extreme.

OTOH, I've always thought that a project like Pandora should not be approached as a standard manufacturer-customer deal. Personally, I made sure that the money I "gave" to OpenPandora was money I would never miss, so the delays are only irritating insomuch that it means I have to wait longer for my Panda. When my reorder mail came, I simply made an international transfer and ate the bank fee. What can I say? I just want that Pandora... |
