You are appreciated.

Pending some discussions with X-Fade about the web interface: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...947#post315947

...and I hadn't even seen the lovely comments to end the night on.

Now, I must go to bed (long day tomorow); I must not work on pretty UIs.

I thought there was no need for visas if you're in the US or Canada.

I'm just a US resident not yet a citizen. Hopefully next year. ;) We still need a visa, just like last year in Berlin.

I'm worried by the variables here. It's seems to be an NP-complete problem:
  • y from the budget for sponsorship.
  • x people get offered sponsorship.
  • k (where k < x) people are willing to share a room.
  • m (where m < x) people are travelling from a great distance.

How do we solve this equation?

The easy way is this: if you're being sponsored accommodation, you share a room. If you don't want to share a room, pay for your own bed.

The wiki page (http://wiki.maemo.org/Maemo_Summit_2009/Accommodation) was pointing to the Ibis Amsterdam West Hotel as the main one, however according to Quim's post (http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...5&postcount=16), it should in fact be the Ibis Amsterdam Centre Hotel. The wiki page has been changed accordingly (and I've just booked a room at the Centre Hotel too :)

Or just claim back half the cost of a room or something similar I hope.

Re: Maemo Summit accommodation

So in the end, I'm still lost.. how does it work?
My sponsorship has been accepted and I know Quim booked the rooms from the 8th to the 11th.
I am landing on the 10th and staying a bit more in Amsterdam to enjoy it with my girlfriend.

This means I get the sponsorship up to the 11th and I shall provide for the two remaining nights or, as someone stated [can't remember who], we get paid 3 nights?

If the latter, I shall not accept the 3rd night (as it is definitely not Summit related) but I won't mind the 2nd (Sunday night).

Any ideas?

According to the "Who needs a room" section:

Quote:

Please say if you prefer a hotel (or are happy with a hostel), if you need a double room (i.e. because you're bringing your wife/gf) or a single (if you don't want to share) or shared (if you're happy to share).
What does that mean in the case I require a double room?
