It doesn't only happen with dirty fingers. It's fingerprints (and ear-prints when using the phone). I hardly ever use the stylus any more.

You can't help the smudge, man.. this thing will be with you day in, day out, and you've got nothing else to hold it with than your active hands.

A good screen protector helps as it's not a smudge magnet.

True, the ear prints are what makes my current cheap Sprint Samsung phone dirty.

There are 4 things on the left side which need cutouts. From top to bottom: VGA camera, proximity sensor, earpiece, LED.

I've ordered and received the Durasec HighTec screen protector, which has the cut outs. Don't suppose one is required for the LED though.

Now would be about time they (invisible shield, boxwave, ... ) release their screen protector for the N900 so we can order them and get them in time to install them as soon as we get the device!

If you'd need a cut out for the LED then I suppose you'd also need a cut out for the screen since the translucency of the protector obviously isn't very good then. :D

Well, for cases. :D

I think the proximity sensor should work fine without a cutout, honestly.

I was wondering about the screen protector/proximity sensor question myself, is it possible that you can install the screen protector with the power off, turn the power on, then Im guessing the sensor comes on and calibrates itself somehow and it will just assume the protector is supposed to be there...if that makes any sense to anyone.
