No coupons required. You need to have a live.com account, paypal (for the cashback). Search for an item from the bing.com page and if you see a "bing cashback" sort of tag, click that and just follow the instructions. That link generally appears at the top itself.

I have a Sony Play Station Card ($100 cashback if you buy worth $400 from sonystyle) from quite some time (dec 2008) but never used it. I didn't want a PS3 or a Sony product but still I applied for the card as people were reporting that, they were getting that $100 cashback inspite of wherever you purchase. I used the same card (for the first time) for my N900 order with amazon. I hope they give me that cashback! Anyone have any idea on this?

I heard a very interesting story on NPR this week about how people are beginning to ignore voice mail. The interviewee said basically that we would much rather use texting and email over voice, and that it takes about 70 seconds to read a transcript of a 7 minute voice message.

If Nokia gets the word out, this could be as much a game changer for personal phones as the Blackberry was for work phones.

My dream is a world where everyone has all of the IM protocols on their Internet-enabled mobile devices, and I can just IM with people and never ever have to actually talk to anyone who isn't in the room with me... :)

Haha you have Google 411 and other Google Voice users to thank for its accuracy. More samples from all different ethnicities, and regions the more accurate it gets. Kinda scary how it's a self-feeding monster..

Though I think there's still a place for voicemail. For casual business or "hey where you at" there's SMS/IM. But for a heart endearing message I'll always take hearing "I love you" or "I'm sorry" over voice then in SMS/IM. But ideally in person would be the best.

Really paying 1000 € for a phone is beyond any sanity IMHO.

I'm curious about the total cost of the T-Mobile data plan plus €1, compared to the price of the N900 unlocked and the plan you need.

Personally, all things being equal, I'd prefer to just get a loan for the €1000 than commit to a contract with a carrier, so I'm wondering what the incentive is. I have heard that they make the data plan less expensive if you take a contract that includes the phone (or more expensive if you don't), but I have yet to see a direct comparison. This would be needed in order to compare the costs of the alternative (the interest on a loan, for example).

Care to give us some of your figures?

They are milking iPhone fanboys like cows. I can remember that the plans for the normal iPhone 3G were not that high, but those are obviously not available anymore.
Oh, and all plans run for at least 24 months.

And remember that the iPhone is not really 1000 €. There is only the T-Mobile locked iPhone available in Germany. What you see on Amazon.de for 1000 € are expensive imports from countries where the law prohibits phone locking.
