I've also preordered in sweden and I'm a bit cranky about this too, but I'll try to restrain myself...

I don't know, but I'd bet that new Nokia phones would never be delayed in Finland while shipping in other countries.

Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm just speculating that Nokia enjoys such tremendous goodwill and "we"-spirit among people in Finland (in general) that a sound business choice would be not to disturb those sentiments.

...so, in conclusion, all this makes me think that if ordering from Finland is not too much hassle for us here in Sweden (otherwise one could order to a friends address over there), that's what I'll do in the future.

Anyway. I'll wait for the 1.1 FW (unless I happen to be in Finland and see the N900 in a shop while still waiting for my swedish order), since anything other than Maemo is not an option for me at the moment. I want the opennes and freedom an linuxiness that Maemo has and even Android doesn't.

Not good to have IMEI around.

Any good reasons why not? Ie, what's the worst somebody could do with it? I'd be slightly concerned about the WLAN MAC (could be used to get stuff from tablets-dev.nokia.com at some point in the near future), but AFAIK the IMEI isn't used as an authentication token for anything...

What are odds for a delivery with ver: 1.1 before end of this year?
And I mean deliver to shops and home to customers who had preordered in Sweden!

As Browser Portrait mode was announced for Christmas at Maemo Summit I expect an update by Christmas.

So you should probably do the same - remove the image from your post.

In quoting, I quoted the link, not the image.
If the original author removes the link, it'll get automatically removed (and this is what seems to have happened right now)

I *think*, but I am not sure, one could change their IMEI and use that one. Something bad may happen.

Anyway, since is the phone ID, it's always better not to show it around. You never know what a bad hacker/cracker could do with it.

You mean the same way someone could steal your license plate number and drive around with it?

WE HAVE TO PROTECT OUR LICENSE PLATES!!!

I'm sorry but i've read many times that one sould protect the imei number.
i don't see why.

let someone steal it and use my imei number to make illegal phone calls

Changing a device's IMEI is technically very difficult, not to mention illegal in most places. If we're worried about bad guys, the main use of changing the IMEI is to work around the device being barred by the network operators after being reported lost/stolen (in which case the bad guy already has it and wants to change it to anything else, so keeping it secret is pointless).

If it was that dangerous I'm sure Nokia wouldn't print it (3 times!) on the outside of the retail box ;-)

Is this what Nokia Sweden talked about as version "1.1"?
