Re: milkdrop

ok start simply.

lets see about some routines (extracted from wherever) to give FFT from live data
no graphics, no faffing, minimal dependencies, simple function, array of results.

in c preferably, then we can use it in various languages afterwards.

MohammadAG wants to do a VU meter using the keyboard backlights, so these kind of functions will help :)

I've "ported" the C++ FFT function from Milkdrop 1.04 to C and done some simple tests.

I haven't done any testing using music data or integrated it with anything so this is just FFT functionality as it looked in Milkdrop at the time.

Attached is the source and a simple main to drive it.

EDIT:
Added the copyright blurb from NullSoft to fft.c.

Hi guys. Sorry i hate to keep making promisses and not doing anything about it. Have recently bought and moved into a house and been very busy with work. i hope to look again at this sometime. unfortunatly i think ill need to start over as forgot i had it all under the sdk coppied to my device - then flashed pr1.2. which erased it all of course.

i started with projectm rather than milkdrop. i posted to some mailing list and got some promssing replies. one guy inparticular claimed to have had it running on on iphone as part of a "comerical venture" which he then didnt go through with. not sure what that meant but he seemed to think its worth doing.

Any news on this?
Or has it run dead because of the projectm thing, from which we didn't hear anything new either as he didn't go through with it?

milkdrop is open source  ??
that's awesome
i wouldn't have guessed that the only visualization plugin written that is any good is open source, and the idiots writing the ones used in xbox & media player can't get a ****ing clue and make something good.

+respect to nullsoft
