Re: Another LED pattern thread

anyone could guide me on how to access the mce.ini file ? Must this be via terminal or can I access by pc ?

Re: Another LED pattern thread

you have to acces it by terminal
its quick all you have to have installed is rootsh which will be found in the repositories and you need to have midnight commander installed on your n900.. once this has been install:

1) open x terminal and type 'sudo gainroot'
2) then type 'mc' midnight commander should open
3) go to the folder etc/mce/ the mce.ini file should be there
4) finally just click on file and then edit

So you have installed rootsh.
Then you type 'sudo gainroot' (and you don't get any errors).
Then you type 'mc', and edit the /etc/mce/mce.ini file.
Do you get any other errors?

rRGB wouldn't work - you're trying to assign the red channel to both engines.
You're looking for something like
Code:

PatternCommunicationEmail=30;1;0;rgB;9d80400040ff7f0040007f000000;9d80400040ff7f007f000000

you da man............ cheers !! I totally get how it works now, haha!! so simple I didnt think of it............

ive got this setup:

missed call - flash red-blue constantly, no pause in-between
sms, IM, email - flash white-blue constantly, no pause in-between

as im slightly colour blind, this helps me best to determine between missed call and sms etc. i dont really use IM much and rarely email, so its a message generally to me.
