That is in the works.

But to me that is not true premium software. I would consider premium software being able to use a full blown offline word processor, with full formatting support, ODF, DOC, DOCX, etc., file format support. Or a good full blown offline spreadsheet program with ODF, XLS, XLSX support. Or how about a full blown offline image editor with layers and all commonly used image format support. Or is that too much to ask?

We have all that on the N900 today! What other mobile phone has that?

there has been lot of speculation about lack of DRM etc far before n900 was announced and what that means to premium apps

How can a research tell what are Nokia's future plan regarding Ovi store? Regarding the OS? regarding third party's developed applications for the N900?

How can a research tell you that there won't be a voice navigation software, at least not 3 months after you bought it?
How can a research tell you that Nokia will not announce a free Ovi Maps with navigation for the N900?

The "do your research" argument, or in it's current incarnation the "ah, so you didn't do your research correctly" is somewhat suspicious to me.

How come every non sympathetic review/response about the N900 gets this irrelevant response?

Looks like the equation is simple:

If you find no lacks in the N900 - well, congratulation!! you did your research properly! Enjoy :D

If there is something you lack of with the phone - obviously you didn't do your research correctly , and you are a troll .
Sell the phone (for half the price you bought it for) and buy an iPhone because that is what people like you deserve!

I was not happy with the thread title and initial direction of this thread but glad to see some good come out of it.

And Kurt: don't shut your mouth.

To clarify my previous post...
I did do my research properly, wasn't expecting nokia to release the n900 with a pre-installed ovi store launch which opened a browser simply displaying 'coming soon' for months :D
My bad if i missed that one before purchase :D

My only snag is the lack of free/premium apps for the device via nokia's direct app store. Like i said before, i love this phone it fits most of my needs as a commercial user, just want ovistore to up its game :)

I think it's a bit disingenuous though to publish his blog and then post here saying "look here, see what I've just done". I think it's quite clear what his intention was. There are threads that address the issues that he mentioned; if he wants to blow off some steam, those would be the places and not another duplicate thread. Complaints are not solutions. If one feels the itch to do some typing, bug reports are much more salutary than this. With all that said, I do hope that criticism continues to draw more attention from Nokia to address the needs of their customers, because positive criticism is beneficial.

Prove to me I'm wrong. I was really hoping for the best.

All points are on target. Nokia just screwed up. Big time

To some extend, I agree with the poster. Nokia needs some tough love from.

How hard is it use [search] button when visiting a forum, it’s not that hard to find <random word/topic> if you as a new user need info about something.

Hell, sometimes it’s even fastrer to google it and get the correct links with info.

People are lazy, instead of searching forums like maemo.org we end up with multiple threads like this.

Suggestion: please create a subforum called The Arena/ Battlefloor/ War of the phones/ Naggers corner/ Fanboy backyard or something simmilar.

Would be nice to be able to read the TALK posts without drowning in crap posts like this all the time.
Tiresome and a waste of time better spent somewhere else.

Pretty big difference between constructive critic and ideas/bug reports(make a proper bug report) and mindless posts like this one(and bkogs)

So as stated before, please close this and other threads like this one a little faster or send em to the above mentioned sub forum.
